Lightyear Foundation exists to support disabled and neurodivergent children and young people to engage with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). We are in the process of developing a new Strategic Plan, which will direct our work over the next 5-10 years, and we would value your input. We are engaging a wide range of young people and adults in developing this strategy, and as part of this, during next week we will be conducting a series of polls, to find out your views about the inclusion of disabled and neurodivergent people in STEM. Over the past year Lightyear Foundation has partnered with Immersive Experiences to bring immersive pop-up planetariums to special schools as part of our Immersive Sensory Science programme. This weekend we will be visiting Immersive Experiences on their stand at New Scientist Live. We are looking forward to seeing everything they have to offer as well as the other exhibitors and talks. And we are looking forward to sharing the work that Lightyear Foundation does too. Hope we see you there! Inclusive Change At Work C.I.C has joined forces with Lightyear Foundation to produce a STEM podcast with the participation of young people with disabilities and neurodivergence. Squar3roots podcast is co-created by young people from across Bristol, including pupils from Venturers Academy, with the aim of igniting and nurturing engagement with the STEM sector. Lucy S., the charity’s founder, believes the podcast is a vital step in opening up prospective career paths in STEM for young people with disabilities.
