About us
KEW Technology is a UK based sustainable energy solutions company. The company has developed a unique technology that tackles climate change by efficiently converting all types of non-recyclable resources and low-grade biomass into a wide range of sustainable energy vectors, such as rDME (LPG & diesel substitute), hydrogen, power, heat and advanced fuels for a zero-carbon future. KEW is at the heart of two parallel market evolutions: the drive towards zero carbon and the shift to zero waste as part of a circular economy. KEW deploys its technology into developed projects, helping industrial corporates to achieve their net-zero ambitions in harder to decarbonise areas such as industrial gases and fuels.

We were pleased to attend the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference 2024 in Glasgow last week, the UK’s largest low carbon energy and full supply chain renewables event, with the co-located Dcarbonise🌍 We are thrilled to share our experience and takeaways from the event! Our team had the pleasure of participating in one of the three REA Bioenergy Panels on the first day. The three sessions drew an impressive audience of 250-300 attendees, leading to great presentations, numerous questions, and insightful discussions around the latest in technology, policy and energy sector developments. It was an engaging and informative day, with our Head of Sustainability, ESG and Policy Amna Bezanty being one of the 13 featured speakers who explored every aspect of the bioenergy sector - her panel was focused on bioenergy's pivotal role in addressing hard-to-abate sectors such as heat and transport. We were particularly excited to emphasise the importance of the role of advanced gasification, a form of ACT, in bioenergy, CCUS and the overall #energytransition. Sharing this message with such a diverse and knowledgeable audience was a significant highlight for us. Additionally, the conference provided a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our valued partners and stakeholders. Events like these underscore the importance of collaboration and information exchange in driving the #bioenergy sector forward. We look forward to continuing our efforts in advancing #sustainableenergy solutions and fostering innovation through collaboration! #deliveringaworldbeyondfossilfuels #AllEnergy2024 #Bioenergy #AdvancedGasification #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #Collaboration

It’s #mentalhealthawarenessweek and this year’s theme is on “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”. We all know doing some form of exercise is good for our mental health so why not try going for a walk with a colleague at lunchtime, put on your favourite music and dance around your living room to relieve the stress of the working day, or try doing some gentle chair exercises when you’re watching television – it all counts! At KEW we have our team’s back and make it our business to take a moment to check in with our colleagues, ask how they are, and offer support if needed. Acknowledging our colleagues #wellbeing in the workplace helps break down the stigma and barriers often associated with mental health. To show our commitment we have a few things planned this week, including #mentalhealth training to highlight our current benefits as an employer, an organised walking group around Birmingham, a day to 'Wear it Green' to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation and a session to encourage our colleagues to either share their own personal mental health stories or any tips that may help another colleague going through a tough time. What will you be doing this week to get your teams on the move? #employeewellness #mentalhealth #breakthestigma #movemore

This year’s #EarthDay is all about #plastics and how we can phase out single use plastic, with demands for a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040. 🌱 🌎 We know #waste and specifically non-recyclable waste and what we do with it has and continues to be a massive problem damaging our #planet and #seas.🐠 Our ambition is to create #CircularEconomies beginning with waste. Rather than waste (containing plastics) going to #landfill and #incineration our innovative advanced #gasification #technology converts it into a stable clean gas that can be used as fuels and chemicals for hard-to-decarbonise sectors like energy intensive industries, #transport and off-grid heating.✈ Furthermore, plastics serve as an excellent source of recycled carbon fuel, offering a viable alternative to #FossilFuels in these hard-to-abate sectors. This aligns with global sustainability targets and helping to drive the transition towards more #sustainable #energysolutions contributing to achieving #NetZero in both the waste and energy sectors. 📢Join our mission to transform waste management and energy production. By using advanced gasification technology, we convert waste into valuable resources, helping to drive sustainable solutions. 📥Let’s collaborate to create a more sustainable future. Engage with us, share our vision, and make a real impact by emailing [email protected] #CircularEconomy #SustainableFuture #NetZero

Amna Bezanty, Head of Sustainability, ESG & Policy was invited to participate in a podcast recently with ENDS Waste & Bioenergy. During her interview with editor Luke Walsh, Amna discusses KEW’s technology and how this is now in its initial commercialisation stage, ten years on. The team has grown to 100 people over the last decade and the diversity within the team has been instrumental to growing the business at scale and creating the right culture. Amna qualified in Economics at Aston University and you can hear her back story on how she personally got into the sustainability and waste sector and how she is encouraging other women to follow suit. In response to KEW having been under the radar but firmly out in the market now, Amna shares her response - extracts below: “Indeed we have and I would say it was a deliberate choice due to our core philosophy shaped by our background experience and motivations which has been fundamental in forming our development and deployment strategy from the very beginning and that beginning was actually just over 10 years ago now so we've been around for quite a long while. “Why we came to this conclusion and approach, is because it all started with our co-founders who came from a similar world of conversion technologies. Our CEO, Kamal Kalsi, who's also the brain behind our core IP, was heavily involved in assessment of conversion technologies and their due diligence before starting KEW. And our CTO, Hans Månsson, has actually had over 30 years of gasification experience, so he's really lived the failures and some successes. “Thanks to that it really informed our approach and it also meant we focused a lot more on initially proving we have something that works before putting focus on being known for who we are and what we're doing before we'd actually done it.” Collaborations with SUEZ UK, feedstock, advanced gasification challenges and opportunities, and much more chat is available to listen to on the link below 👇 https://lnkd.in/e5z-yUEe #podcastinterview #wastesector #technologyandinnovation #aworldwithoutfossilfuels
