The big news coming out of CES is Amazon's new retail media network tech [https://lnkd.in/eEwt5Gij] . Amazon is offering a fairly simple PLA offering, but the important part is that it brings demand from Amazon's huge array of advertisers. We have all been expecting this - Amazon Ads have saturated their O&O and are looking for additional supply. They have Amazon DSP for buying across the open web, but the performance there can't compete with PLAs on a retailers site. This product is going to make a ton of sense for marketplaces and delivery apps, RMNs who don't see Amazon as their direct competitor. I could see some mid-size retailers who might currently outsource their RMN to Criteo or Citrus might also decide to give it a shot. I think what everyone can agree on though is that the major retailers who are investing heavily in their RMNs (Home Depot, Kroger, Chewy, etc) aren't going to go back to a black-box outsourced solution, since that's where they got started and they understand the limitations. The best RMNs in the world are going to be built by companies who invest in both people and tech.
