It is with great sadness, but incredible gratitude, that we mourn the passing of Sir Kenneth Grange at the age of 95. Kenneth remains a seminal influence within the world of Product Design to this day. He was at the heart of designing many of the products we take for granted in the modern world - from trains, appliances, lights, speakers, chairs, cameras, pens, razors and beyond - his work is ubiquitous and will have touched most of our lives in some way, even if we are unfamiliar with the designer himself. His successful collaboration with Kenwood spanned decades, from the late-50s to mid-90s. He modernised the Kenwood design approach, creating the seeds of a design identity still present today, and helped the company to extend into new emerging categories across more than 100 products. When his direct involvement ended, he generously offered support in setting up our internal design team (KDO) through his long-standing relationship with Johan Santer, who led the KDO team for over two decades. For those of us lucky enough to know Kenneth on a more personal level, he was a true British gentleman - full of captivating stories and experiences, always told with humour and wit. Someone to truly aspire to, and a hero for some of us. RIP Kenneth, you will be missed but your legacy remains
