🔄 What role do we all play in enabling a circular economy? Last week, Keltbray hosted a breakfast event as part of Circular Economy Week, where we delved into "The Value Chain for a Circular Economy". The event began with opening remarks from our CEO, Vince Corrigan, followed by inspiring presentations from Holly Price, Group Sustainability Director, and Stuart Norman CEng FICE , Director of Ground Engineering. We had a brilliant time at UK Construction Week! 🙌 Stuart Vaughan CEng FICE MIStructE, Managing Director of WHP, led an insightful session alongside Michael O'Hagan, Director of Keltbray, and Matt Lamb, Senior Engineer at Keltbray. They looked into the development of Salisbury Square, a significant project featuring an 18-metre deep basement, substructure, and superstructure for three buildings in the heart of the City of London. The Keltbray HS2 team recently had the privilege of partnering with Balfour Beatty VINCI on an inspiring initiative to support Beatle Woods, an inclusive outdoor nursery just outside Birmingham. This special nursery provides children aged 2 to 12 with a child-led, nature-focused experience, offering a transformative environment to build the essential skills we know are important for future life. Beatle Woods reached out through BBV’s community investment programme for help dealing with weather-related issues that had turned their site muddy. After seeing the site, BBV knew they could do more, and we were thrilled to step in and help build a brand-new, weather-resistant cabin, complete with kitchen and facilities for both staff and children. Our team didn’t stop there. In addition to the cabin, we added a sailing boat for the children to play in and re-filled the outdoor library with books for the children to enjoy. 📚⛵ In just six days, the project was complete! All teams were excited to reveal it to Rachel MacBeth, Founder & Manager of Beatle Woods, who said: “The building has exceeded all of my expectations. I can’t wait to see the faces of the staff and the children when we return and to experience how this will impact our practice.” 😀 A huge thank you to everyone involved, including the 15 Keltbray team members who worked tirelessly to make this happen, with special support from our WHP team, and BBV. This project is a true reflection of Keltbray’s core value: Care for everyone and work with respect.
