MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 👏 🎉 John and Anne accomplished the classic journey from Land’s End, the most south westerly tip of England, to John o Groats, the most north easterly tip of Scotland! Known as the ‘End to End’ or ‘LEJOG’ the big challenge at 50 hilly miles per day and unsupported on their tandem bike, raising money for BBC Children in Need. We wanted to share another little update from John that we received yesterday, as he and Anne continue onto the homeward stretch of their charity bike ride, cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats raising money for BBC Children in Need 😀 "We’ve done 790 miles, so about 270 to go. It’s our third and last rest day today, in Pitlochry. Yesterday was one of the best and certainly the easiest day of cycling so far. 40 miles of quiet lanes in spectacular scenery, with great weather and a very helpful wind! The dog tried to nick our Pudsey! We also got to see the Aberfeldy Show and Highland Games! I’ve attached some sheep pics, especially for you Pete! The day was rounded off by us managing to get some returned tickets for a Queen tribute band at the theatre! All in all a great day. As some of you might be aware John Johnson has started off his retirement from Johnsons with a great task, himself and his lovely wife, Anne have embarked on a tandem bike ride from Land's End to John o'Groats - covering 1050 miles in 21 days all in aid of fundraising for BBC Children in Need. He is keeping us all in the loop and reporting back with photos of their journey so far and have asked us to share them with you all.. "We are now over halfway and have made it to Moffat, in Scotland! We are on our second rest day and the weather has been great since Gloucester, except for today! We did 65 miles from Penrith to Moffat and as soon as we crossed the border it started to rain! So the last 30 miles were in torrential rain!😬 😰 We’ve raised about £2500 in total so far. We are still in good nic and so is the bike, so all is well. Thank you for the sponsorship. PS, yesterday we missed a turn at Tebay, but to save us retracing our steps for a couple of miles we consulted the OS map then took a short cut, down a track through a field and over a footbridge… all part of the adventure (see the last couple of photos.
