🔌🚫 Electrical Waste doesn't belong in your recycling bin at home! 🚫🔌 E-waste contains valuable materials, like copper and gold, that can be reused, plus toxic elements that can harm the environment if they are not disposed of properly. Recycling e-waste helps protect our planet and supports a circular economy! ⚡🌍 We often see electrical items mixed in with household waste at our MRF, which can make effective recovery difficult. To ensure it’s handled sustainably: 🔌 Check with your local council for e-waste recycling facilities - many accept old appliances, phones, and cables. 📱 Some retailers and manufacturers offer take-back programs for used devices. 📦 Organise e-waste by type (batteries, cables, gadgets) for easier recycling. For businesses, J&B Recycling offers dedicated WEEE waste recycling, making it easy to responsibly dispose of electrical items. Check out our guide to disposing electrical waste 🔗 https://loom.ly/1vwiUyw #JBRecycling #ElectricalWaste #CircularEconomy #SustainableSolutions

At J&B Recycling, we believe that a sustainable future starts with educating younger generations. St Bede's Primary School in Washington recently hired our litter-picking kits - a fun and engaging way for children to participate in recycling! ♻️🌍 Our litter-picking kits provide children with a hands-on opportunity to connect with their community while learning about environmental care. Schools, community groups, and businesses can hire these kits from us to support their local area’s sustainability efforts. ♻️ We also offer school assemblies, recycling tours, and more to inspire the next generation toward sustainable living. If your school would like to get involved, contact us today at https://lnkd.in/geyzPZwv. #JBRecycling #EcoEducation #GreenSchools #EnvironmentalEducation #SustainabilityInSchools

Remember, remember the 5th of November… and celebrate sustainably! 💥🎆 As we enjoy Bonfire Night, let’s keep it environmentally friendly: 🔥 Only burn clean, untreated wood - avoid old materials like painted or treated wood, which release harmful chemicals into the air. 🦔 Check your bonfire for hedgehogs and other small animals before lighting - give them a safe Bonfire Night too! 💦 And remember, fireworks can’t be recycled! Used fireworks? Soak, wrap, and place in general waste. Unused? Return to the retailer or consult your local council. Let’s keep Bonfire Night safe, green, and enjoyable for everyone! 🌍✨ 🔗 www.jbrecycling.co.uk #JBrecycling #BonfireNight #EcoFriendly #SafeCelebrations

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧! 👻 This Halloween, we're excited to share our top tips for celebrating sustainably. 🎃♻️ Halloween can create more waste than you might expect, but there are plenty of ways to reduce your environmental impact and save money at the same time. For example, reusing costumes from previous years keeps textile waste out of landfills, while helping you avoid buying new, single-use items. Did you know that 83% of Halloween costumes are made from hard to recycle, oil-based plastics? Most of these end up in landfills, causing significant harm to the environment. Let’s reduce that number by choosing sustainable options this year—like secondhand costumes or making your own! Today, we bid a bittersweet farewell to our longest-standing employee, Colin, who is retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Colin started with our parent company and has been a key part of J&B Recycling since we launched in 1998. As the friendly face you’ve seen loading bins and keeping our drivers in check, he’s been an invaluable member of the team. Colin was featured in our "Ode to a Bin Man" video, a tribute to the hard work he’s put in over the years—check it out to see what his day-to-day looks like and how much he’s contributed to J&B Recycling! 🚛👷♂️♻️ He's out doing his final round today, so if you spot a J&B truck, give us a toot - it could be Colin! 🚛📢 He’ll be sorely missed, and we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement. #JBRecycling #Recycling #WasteManagement #Waste #WasteOperative
