Today, we bid a bittersweet farewell to our longest-standing employee, Colin, who is retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Colin started with our parent company and has been a key part of J&B Recycling since we launched in 1998. As the friendly face you’ve seen loading bins and keeping our drivers in check, he’s been an invaluable member of the team. J&B Recycling is proud to announce its continued involvement in the Flexible Plastic Fund’s (FPF) #FlexCollect recycling initiative for flexible plastic packaging with Newcastle City Council, which is set to expand to 35,000 homes in October 2024! FPF FlexCollect is a UK-wide pilot project designed to tackle the challenge of recycling flexible plastic packaging - materials like plastic bags, wrappers, and film, which are often difficult to collect and recycle through traditional methods.
