🌊 A day with "Størst" in the North Sea 🌊   The climate crisis is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges we face today, but how can we solve it?   In the latest series of the very popular Danish TV show “Størst,” host Peter Ingemann explores some of the technologies at the forefront of the green transition. One of these key technologies is carbon capture and storage (CCS), and back in spring, the Størst team visited INEOS and our Siri Offshore platform in the Danish part of the North Sea to learn more about CCS.   Together with Mads Gade, Head of INEOS Energy Denmark, the team presented Project Greensand - the groundbreaking initiative demonstrating safe and efficient transport of CO2 across borders to be stored deep beneath the North Sea to mitigate climate change. This project - and CCS in general - holds immense potential for Denmark, allowing us to store not only Danish CO2 but also large quantities from neighbouring European countries that lack similar storage options.   Peter Bjerre, our Maintenance Manager, shared how CO2 storage provides new job security and allows our offshore teams to use their skills to support the green transition.   The program airs tomorrow October 30 at 20.00 on Danish TV2. A good day for Project Greensand and CCS in Europe.   Today, the EU Commission has announced the selection of innovative net-zero projects to receive grants from the EU Innovation Fund. Among the 85 selected projects is Project Greensand operated by INEOS Energy together with the license partners Harbour Energy and Nordsøfonden.   Last year Project Greensand demonstrated as a worlds first that CO2 could be transported cross borders to be stored offshore to mitigate climate change. And recently the independent verifier DNV verified that CO2 can be stored safely in Greensand. The good news on Project Greensand being among the selected net-zero projects is a huge acknowledgement of the importance of CCS in general and of the work done by the partners behind Greensand.   The support from the Innovation Fund will be a valuable contribution to our work with Project Greensand and the fulfilment of the ambition to establish the first CO2-storage site within the EU by the end of 2025/start of 2026.

🌍🔋 INEOS Energy Denmark at the Democratic Festival on Energy 2024⚡ On September 20-21, INEOS Energy Denmark had the pleasure of participating in the Danish Democratic Festival on Energy, Denmark's national debate on the future of energy, environment, and climate.   We had insightful discussions with attendees about our two strategic focus areas:   1. Delivering the necessary energy during the green transition 2. Safety is the overarching principle for all we do in INEOS. But a very high level of safety is not something that comes easily - it takes a lot of work to create the right mindset and a safety culture. Safety ambassadors that set the direction are an important part. In INEOS Energy we are lucky to have such ambassadors. One of them Heidi Gaardbo, SHE and Competency Advisor in our Esbjerg office has recently had the great honour to be nominated for the Danish Offshore Safety Award 2024 with the following motivation: “Heidi is always going the extra mile for safety. Heidi is a visible driving force in the Occupational Health & Safety organisation in INEOS Energy. She is always available and approachable for all colleagues, on- and offshore, both in relation to her daily job and if a colleague needs a piece of advice or has any concern. Heidi is a believer of the incident-free mindset. Not only at work, but she also has the courage to intervene if something unsafe is observed outside working hours - nothing goes by unattended.” A well deserved recognition of Heidi and her dedication to safety.

🌟 We recently said goodbye to four brilliant interns: Saimon, Daniella, Luis, and Reezah, who spent a month working with us at INEOS Energy UK. This internship was organized in partnership with Career Ready, a social mobility charity who we’ve worked with for a number of years. Career Ready connects employers with young people, providing mentoring, internship, and workplace visit opportunities. Their aim is to boost social mobility and empower young people to put their talents to use in the workplace. It was an incredible learning experience for all of our interns.
