As Cyber Essentials celebrates its 10th anniversary, businesses across the UK are being urged to reinforce their digital defences to stay ahead of cyber threats. Today, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), alongside the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and leading banks including Barclays UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide Building Society, NatWest, Santander UK and TSB Bank have issued a joint statement emphasising the critical importance of cyber security across business supply chains. (https://lnkd.in/gxVbtzvP) Also being published today, the Cyber Essentials scheme - impact evaluation details the impact of the Cyber Essentials scheme and how effective it is in improving the cyber security of businesses and organisations. It found: Over 85% of users report a better understanding of cyber risks. 92% fewer insurance claims are made by businesses and organisations with the Cyber Essentials controls in place The scheme continues to gain momentum, with over 190,000 Cyber Essentials certificates awarded to businesses and organisations to date, including 43,480 issued in the past year alone (https://lnkd.in/eGJQZJRT)
