Its defect-free fibre steering capability realises ultra lightweight composite structures beyond the limit of the conventional straight fibre designs & complex geometry which is not manufacturable using current automated manufacturing technologies. Beyond state-of-the-art lightweighting solutions - Composite materials are anisotropic, they are only strong in the direction of their fibres. iCOMAT’s specialist technology steers the path of fibres, enabling optimisation of mechanical properties at any point of the structure & ultimately improve all aspects of structural performance. Incredibly proud and fortunate to have been invited to attend the Atlas Composites and Innovation Summit at the National Institute for Aviation Research in Witchita , Kanses this week and to get to represent iCOMAT . It was great to meet so many composite industry leaders in person and to be able to network with. Having the opportunity to Watch up close , the ground breaking composite automation demonstrations was brilliant . Special mention to Dr. Waruna Seneviratne for organising this great event and making me feel extremely welcome. So many highlights to take away but the speech made by living legend Linden P. Blue was simply incredible (so engrossed I forgot to get a photo!! ). Thanks again Waruna , until next time !!
