We were pleased to see Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves reaffirm the government's commitment to the 11 HAR1 hydrogen projects in this week's budget. Capital Hydrogen has announced the appointment of Jacobs as the lead contractor for the Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) phase of Cadent’s East London Hydrogen Pipeline (ELHP) project. The ELHP will connect major industrial zones through East London along the River Thames to a hydrogen supply, enabling the decarbonisation of critical industries.

Great to be at the launch of the National Energy System Operator today at the House of Commons and to hear more about the ambition for a joined up approach to energy planning and delivering Net Zero. This is SO important! Many in the energy industry have been calling for this for a long time so great to see it officially launched. Hydrogen UK is looking forward to working closely with NESO over the coming months and years to ensure that hydrogen can be unlocked at scale and play the role that it will need to play to deliver net zero and energy security!
