Our External Affairs Manager David Petrie joined Scottish Conservatives' Housing Spokesperson Miles Briggs MSP and Ediston Homes Director neal jamieson on a visit to see the beginning of one of Ediston Homes' new sites in central Edinburgh. The New Town Quarter development will see new high- quality energy-efficient homes delivered in Scotland’s capital, regenerating a vacant brownfield site. The development will include a range of tenures to meet a range of different housing needs in the city, including the provision of mid-market rent, build to rent and homes for private sale. Issues discussed during the site visit included the implications of the Housing Bill and its impact on inward investment into housing in Scotland and ongoing challenges surrounding the planning and consenting system.

#DidYouKnow that Places for People’s oldest building is Dymock’s Building in Falkirk, Scotland? First built in 1650, the building has seen hundreds of years of history, changing hands many times and undergoing renovations and extensions. After falling into disrepair, Dymock’s Building was restored by National Trust for Scotland and opened by the then HRH Prince Charles in 2004. Now converted into Places for People homes, Dymock’s Building stands at the heart of the Bo’ness Community. Thanks to its Grade II listening, it’s fascinating history and distinctive orange copperas façade can be preserved for future generations to enjoy! Day 4 of the Homes for Scotland, SME Awareness week 19th - 23rd August 2024. Raising awareness of the importance of SMEs in House Building. We're showcasing some of our projects as an SME House Builder in Scotland. Allanbank, Lauder We will be delivering 110 energy efficient new build homes in the historic rural town of Lauder, in the Scottish Borders. Homes for Scotland data shows that every £1 per annum spent delivering new build homes results in a further £5 spent by new home residents in secondary spend – supporting local economies and jobs. More information can be found in the HFS report on “The Social and Economic Benefits of Home Building in Scotland”. https://lnkd.in/eC4jTuuq #smebuilders #hfs #deliveringmore #brownfield #ruralhousing Homesforscotland #newbuild #energyefficient #scottishhousing

Willie Rennie MSP recently joined our colleagues Lauren Trouten and Kevin Murphy in visiting Quale Homes' Blythe Meadows in Kinglassie, Fife. This project will see the development of over 210 high quality, energy efficient homes, including 45 new affordable homes. The creation of this new community highlights the pivotal role SMEs play in growing and sustaining local economies with the development expected to support an excess of 200 jobs locally over five years. #SMEhomebuilders #deliveringmore #alltenure #homesforscotland #awarenessweek

An integral part of our #SMEhomebuilders #awarenessweek has been encouraging politicians to get on site with members to see for themselves the positive difference the delivery of new homes makes, not just for the residents but also in regenerating and revitalising local communities. We were delighted that Pam Gosal MBE MSP visited the Turnberry Homes Ltd Queenswater Apartments development in Dumbarton - former industrial land at the foot of Dumbarton Castle that Turnberry has regenerated over two decades. Pam heard about about the challenges of progressing brownfield sites and the cumulative impact of regulation. #deliveringmore #alltenure #homesforscotland
