  • We are proud to announce our support for the Glasgow Meat Market Regeneration Project with a £2.3 million investment, made possible by National Lottery players.    This initiative, led by the Meat Market Regeneration CIC, will revitalise the site between the city centre and Dennistoun, transforming it into a vibrant hub for community, sport, and local business.   The funding will be instrumental in restoring the historic B-listed Victorian sheds and implementing a comprehensive Heritage Activity Programme. We look forward to seeing this project foster community growth and preserve Glasgow’s heritage. Glasgow City Council #Heritage #HeritageFund

🌟 Celebrating Community at Portsmouth’s Family Festival 2024!🌟 We’re thrilled to share the unforgettable moments from yesterday’s Family Festival! Hosted by The Roberts Centre, Home-Start Portsmouth and Victoria Park, this event was a true celebration of our vibrant community. This year’s festival was packed with fun for all ages, featuring live entertainment, engaging activities, and an array of community stalls. Families from all over the city came together to bid farewell to the summer holidays in the best way possible! The Roberts Centre has long been a pillar of support in Portsmouth, offering essential services in housing, education, and family assistance. Their dedication helps families overcome challenges and build brighter futures. Home-Start Portsmouth another cornerstone of our community, has been providing emotional and practical support to parents since 1992. With their team of dedicated volunteers, they help families navigate difficulties such as bereavement, isolation, and depression, ensuring every parent has the support they need to thrive. 🎨 Seekers Create C.I.C and Victoria Park Portsmouth Collaboration 🎨 At the festival we got to launch our new trail working in partnership with Seekers and Victoria Park! Together, we’ve created the "Guardians of Victoria Park: A Family Adventure Trail"—a unique experience that invites families to explore the park and uncover ten hidden animal guardians, including a stunning new Rainbow Peacock mural. Each guardian has a special role in protecting this beloved green space, offering a fun and educational adventure for nature lovers of all ages. 🌿 Victoria Park Restoration 🌿 Victoria Park has been a cherished green space in Portsmouth for over 140 years. Thanks to a £2.4 million The National Lottery Heritage Fund grant, the park is undergoing a major restoration. This four-year project, which began in 2022, aims to preserve the park's rich heritage while enhancing its facilities for all. The restoration not only rejuvenates the landscape but also creates new opportunities for learning, well-being, and community connection. A huge thank you to The Roberts Centre, Home-Start Portsmouth, and everyone who came out to make this festival a resounding success. We’re proud to be part of a community that lifts each other up, and we look forward to seeing Victoria Park continue to flourish for future generations. We are beyond delighted to share that the planning submission for the restoration of the Royal Pavilion Garden, Brighton has been approved! 🎉 The Pavilion Garden is a Grade II Registered Historic Park and Garden, surrounding the Grade I listed Royal Pavilion, and is one of the few remaining Regency gardens in the UK. Originally designed in the 19th early Century by John Nash for the Prince Regent, the restoration works plan to reinstate the historic boundary, improve accessibility and movement through the gardens, and renewal of the planting beds. Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Brighton & Hove City Council, the overall aim of the project looks to protect the gardens for now, and for their future, as an iconic Regency garden and valuable green space in the centre of Brighton. It's been a pleasure working with the full project team up to this point and we are excited to start the work to develop the next stages of this very special project and create 'A Garden fit for a King' 👑. We proudly announced a total of £7.4 million in funding to help restore and reimagine six historic places of worship across the UK. This vital investment will protect our shared heritage and transform these cherished spaces into vibrant community hubs. Leading the initiative is Vicars' Close in Wells, the oldest intact residential street in Europe, which has housed Wells Cathedral’s adult choir for over 650 years. It's historic buildings are in urgent need of repair, ensuring it continues to be a source of inspiration for generations to come. In addition to Vicars’ Close, we are supporting: - St Peter’s Church in Norfolk to repair weather damage and engage the community with heritage activities, working towards becoming an 'Eco Church.' - St Hilda’s Church in Hartlepool to make extensive repairs and establish a hub for social and civic life with community heritage events. - St Mary’s Church in Totnes to create an accessible space with building repairs and a three-year programme of community activities. - St Osyth Priory in Essex to develop restoration plans and sustainable income sources. - St Andrew’s Althorne Church in Chelmsford to undertake major repairs and prevent permanent closure. This funding not only helps preserve these historic sites but also moves them closer to coming off Historic England’s ‘At Risk’ Register, ensuring they continue to serve their communities for years to come. #Heritage #Funding #NationalLottery
