As Kenyan authorities make gains in halting the flow of illegal wildlife products from the country, traffickers are utilising instability in the region to find other routes, further emphasising the need for a global response to the issue of wildlife crime.

You may remember that back in April along with the Save a Child Foundation and our project-partners the Kariega Foundation, we broke ground on the Ligerman Education Centre in a key community surrounding the Kariega Game Reserve. Six months on and the centre is getting ready to open! To mark this milestone a wild plum tree was planted to grow alongside the young learners who will be starting at the centre. This centre will become a place for some of the youngest members of this community to start their educational journeys and we cannot wait to see it open its doors 🙌 The education centre will play a crucial part in the community with places for 40 children aged between 1 and 4 years who are currently not in school. Conservation and community must go hand in hand to create a better future for our wild spaces and the people who live alongside them, and the Ligerman EDC shows us that when we look after nature, nature will look after us 🦏

With South Africa's white rhino population increasing it is vital that we celebrate this success, thanks in no small part to private #rhino custodians. However this is no time to slow our efforts, as poaching numbers still remain perilously high.

THANK YOU for supporting our The Lost Rhinos | Help Us Find Them appeal - thanks to you we raised a fantastic £81,000 in just THREE DAYS 🎉 Thanks to your support we can continue finding and rehabilitating more rhino orphans than ever before, protect greater swathes of habitat to help rhinos and the countless species they live alongside to thrive, and establish new populations of critically endangered black rhino. To raise this amount in such a short space of time is truly remarkable and we could not have done it without your generous donations 🙏
