About us

Headstock Distribution was formed in 1997, developed as the UK & Ireland distribution division of the long-established Laney Amplification Company. Laney was founded in 1967 by Lyndon Laney who was a gigging musician in the UK’s vibrant 1960s music scene. Lyndon began building amplifiers for emerging local musicians such as Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. Approaching its 50th anniversary, Laney is one of the world’s leading brands for instrument amplification and sold in over 70 countries worldwide. Nowadays, Lyndon’s son James Laney is CEO for the Headstock Group. Headstock’s UK & Ireland distribution portfolio consists of the following iconic brands: Guitar, Backline and Audio Division: Laney, HH, Ibanez, Truetone, DiMarzio Percussion Division: Tama, Zildjian, Vic Firth and Aquarian. Headstock is focussed on delivering a truly dedicated approach to the products represented; providing the attention to detail, care and energy that each of these world-renowned brands deserves.
