THE AUTUMN STATEMENT: SECTOR FACES A COST OF GIVING CRISIS 85% of charities said this winter will be tough! According to the NCVO, 85% of charities they spoke to in a recent survey said this winter will be as tough – or even tougher (54%) – than it was last year. If the sector doesn’t get the support it urgently needs, 1 in 5 charities could be forced to close until things improve, leaving people and communities at risk. The NCVO committed to raising awareness of the crisis by launching the Cost of Giving Crisis campaign. They are focussed on ensuring charities get the support they need. They have a range of resources for you this winter, including, online guidance, a helpdesk and webinars. In this newsletter we've signposted you to additional organisations which can offer support to help you through this difficult period. HAVE YOUR SAY: TAKE PART IN A FIRE SAFETY SURVEY The Fire Safety Development Group (FSDG) would like your views... The FSDG regularly reviews fire incidents which resulted in fatality, serious injury or near miss, in order to identify and share learning for agencies in the area. In May 2021 the 4 Local Safeguarding Adults Boards produced a Fire Safety Framework for all frontline staff to support in the identification and management of fire risks and vulnerabilities that are presented by individuals who professionals are supporting. To help the FSDG to understand whether the Fire Safety Framework and the learning from the fire related cases is useful and is being utilised, the FSDG has created a survey to gather your views.
