I'm very proud to have received the HBSA's President's Cup for my book on James Woodward & Sons. The cup was presented by the Association's President, Derek Stimpson, at the London Proof House yesterday.

📰 Yousaf pushes Greens to one side If you weren't already aware, the leader of the Scottish Parliament, Humza Yousaf, has announced that the coalition between his party, The Scottish Nationalist Party, and the Green Party in Scotland is over. Known as the Bute House agreement, the power-sharing coalition between the two sides has been in place since August 2021, and is considered by many in the Scottish shooting and conservation community to have lead to a raft of unwelcome initiatives such as the licensing of grouse moors, the control of muirburn, and the ban on hunting for mountain hare. The current minister for Agriculture is Jim Fairlie of the SNP, a former Perthshire sheep farmer, who is reckoned to be a safe pair of hands at the department, has only been in place since February this year.
