The Greyhope Bay Green Powered Assembly met for the first time last week. Together with the community we are tackling big problems of energy transition, biodiversity and social impact. The Assembly challenged us to be more ambitious and build out community benefits beyond our direct needs for the Greyhope Bay Centre. We are hosting a Q&A on our co-creation process as we develop a design proposal for the expansion of Greyhope Bay facilities at Torry Battery. Join in the discussion as we look to challenge PHASE 2 design ideas across 3 themes; are the proposals enhancing accessibility, celebrating history, and fostering community connection to our coast? The event will be held at the new Greyhope Community Hub in Torry. Following this event, we will be feeding participants' ideas into our design proposal that will be launched at our Birthday week celebrations in April (11th). Your contributions will directly influence the future direction of Greyhope Bay, making this an event you won't want to miss! This work has been funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund awarded by Aberdeen City Council.

What do you do when you believe that people who use a place are in the best position to design solutions that meet their needs? One thing that you can do is facilitate the collective thinking enabled by people to design solutions with them, not just for them. When we decided that it was time to grow, because we couldn't accommodate all the workshops and people coming to the centre, we thought that the only way to expand was by co-creating with the people that are part of our story.  In the past few months we have hosted six co-creation events, where people have brought ideas, became part of the design team and created the first concept design for PHASE 2 supported by our architect Gokay Deveci, Professor of Architecture and Daria Belkouri. Fiona McIntyre, PhD and Natalia Alvarez, Ph.D. are leading this co-creative process (and we suspect that having a lot of fun too) while designing also a guide on how to co-create with people scalable solutions that empower communities and their connection to the coast. You can get involved and find out more about our next events at https://lnkd.in/edP8Ttei
