Greggs Foundation is a grant-making charity supporting local communities
About us
Greggs Foundation is a grant-making charity which aims to build stronger, healthier communities in the areas Greggs operates. The Foundation has been supporting local communities for over 35 years and has three key aims: - To address issues of poverty and inequality - Ensure food is at the heart of communities - Support local organisations to make a difference We distribute around £4.5 million per year to charitable organisations throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Through our flagship Breakfast Club programme, we support schools to deliver in excess of 70,000 nutritious breakfasts to children every single day. This number is constantly growing as we work to establish new breakfast clubs in line with the Greggs Pledge to grow the Breakfast Clubs to 1,000 by 2025. Through our partner network, Greggs Breakfast Clubs support thousands of children experiencing hunger as a barrier to learning during the school day. The Greggs Foundation supports charitable organisations through a community grants programme making grants of up to £20,000 per year to community organisations making a real difference in their local area. The Hardship Fund offers practical, hands-on support to families and individuals in financial hardship and offers grants towards household equipment which can make a significant difference to people’s lives.

⭐ 1000 Breakfast Clubs! ⭐ We recently reached a key milestone for The Greggs Foundation as we opened our 1000th Breakfast Club! It is a really proud moment for the whole team and even more special to have reached this goal whilst also celebrating exactly 25 years since our very first club opened at West Walker Primary School in Newcastle. We have so many people to thank for helping us now reach over 75,000 children every single day. However, our special thanks go to our fantastic network of schools, partners and always amazing Greggs colleagues and customers – we could not have done this without you. To mark this milestone, we had a little surprise for some of the children at one of our Breakfast Clubs at Vauxhall Primary School when TV personality, Joe Swash arrived to surprise the children and join in with some fun and games before school began – cue much laughter and excitement! 25 years of serving smiles in schools and feeding brighter futures with the Greggs Foundation ❤️

Greggs Foundation reposted this
Thanks to funding received from the Greggs Foundation we are now providing food to local primary school aged children at an after school club, run by our partner YPF. Food insecurity in this part of Glasgow has trebled in recent years to 40%. We also know that getting nutritious food to kids is a big challenge, despite the roll out of free school meals and the growth of breakfast clubs. Thanks to this funding, we are able to provide a nutritionally balanced meal and a breakfast bag for the kids to enjoy the following morning, to around 20-25 kids, twice a week up until the end of the year. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual fundraising walk through the Ingram Valley for the Greggs Foundation on the 19th of September. We were incredibly blessed with some beautiful September sunshine, which of course did make those hill climbs more challenging but very much worth it. We appreciate some may have ended up walking a little bit further than others depending on your route but we hope the Greggs pizza slice took the edge off any soreness back at Ad Gefrin . Having such high levels of participation from our valued partners and Greggs colleagues truly made the day special. Together, we raised nearly £18,000 to support the work of the Foundation—an incredible achievement! A full gallery of images and short film of the day is on it's way soon but thank you once again for your time, energy, and generosity. Is it too early to mention next year's walk??? 😉
