The GreenVoyage2050 Project is a partnership project between the Government of Norway and IMO aiming to transform the shipping industry towards a lower carbon future. The global partnership is supporting developing countries, including SIDS and LDCs, in meeting their commitment towards relevant climate change and energy efficiency goals, for international shipping, through supporting the Initial IMO GHG Strategy.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is inviting applications for technical assistance for pilot projects, specifically for the development of feasibility studies to support the deployment of zero- or near-zero GHG emission solutions on board ships and in ports. This technical assistance, provided through the IMO GreenVoyage2050 programme, offers eligible developing countries a unique opportunity for tailor-made assistance for feasibility studies up to $250,000 per selected pilot project. Asante sana 🙏 Kenya for your warm welcome and to: - All national maritime and energy stakeholders that joined us this week to work on Kenya’s National Action Plan (NAP) for Green Shipping. - KENYA MARITIME AUTHORITY for taking leadership in developing an ambitious NAP that will connect the shipping and energy sectors. - International Power-to-X Hub for partnering with IMO GreenVoyage2050 and collectively delivering for the first time a training that combines shipping decarbonisation and all steps in renewable energy fuel production. - The over 80 young school / university students and MTCC Africa that joined us today to brainstorm ideas on how we can raise more awareness about maritime decarbonisation job opportunities in Kenya, and attract new and diverse talent to the maritime industry.
