🔊 World Mental Health Day 2024 🌻 On this World Mental Health Day, it's essential to reflect on the importance of work-life balance 🧘♂️ 🤸♀️ 🌸 . World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organizations, and communities. Many people face growing stress from work demands, which can negatively impact their mental health. As the Mental Health Foundation points out, striking a balance between work and personal life is crucial to avoid burnout, reduce anxiety, and improve overall well-being. This can be achieved through self-care practices, setting boundaries, and embracing flexible work arrangements, while employers should foster supportive environments. #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkLifeBalance #MentalHealthMatters #EmployeeWellbeing #SelfCare #StressManagement #BurnoutPrevention #HealthyWorkplace #MentalWellness #WorkplaceMentalHealth #FlexibleWorking #WellbeingAtWork #TakeCareOfYourself #MentalHealthAtWork More Info: https://lnkd.in/gsNrDbw8 References 1. https://lnkd.in/enNGx2X 2. 'We want to ensure that patients, irrespective of background, receive equitable care.' Sarah is a Lead Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust who co-led a groundbreaking pilot project to improve post-mastectomy care in the NHS. Her focus? Enhancing the diversity of soft breast prosthetics, known as 'softies’. A softie is a lightweight fabric prosthesis given to women after mastectomy, which offers comfort and support. Sarah’s initiative broadens the range of skin tones available for softies, ensuring inclusivity for women of all backgrounds. Supported by the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Sarah collaborated with Nubian Skin, a lingerie and hosiery company, to co-create a line of more inclusive softie covers. They've not only helped boost the confidence of more women after surgery, but they've also helped women feel comfortable during the healing process. Thanks to Sarah’s initiative, patients and trusts across the NHS can now access the diverse range of softies through Nubian Skin. This #BlackHistoryMonth and #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we're celebrating colleagues like Sarah who are actively contributing to a more inclusive environment in the NHS.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, meet Karel, a Medical Photographer who is making healthcare imagery more inclusive. Working at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, Karel is part of a team working on the 'Reframe - Diversifying Images' project. The project addresses a crucial gap in healthcare imagery – the shortage of clinical photographs showcasing medical conditions on darker skin tones. These photos will be part of a national image library, available to clinicians, educators and the general public. The aim is to reduce healthcare inequalities, so medical professionals can identify skin conditions faster and more accurately for patients, especially those with darker skin. Swipe through to see Karel’s work in progress. #HealthcareInequalities

Thank you so much for attending and contributing. 🙏
This week, we hosted a session at the Govconnect NHS Long Term Plan & Integrated Care Boards event at the Royal Society of Medicine. Our focus was on the NHS's long-term plan for cancer and how digital tools in oncology can play a crucial role in achieving these long term ambitions. 🎙️ Dr Parisa Zarringhalam discussed how digital solutions can be used to provide integrated regional oncology pathways and shared insights from our research into Cancer Management Systems (CMS). Shedding light on what clinicians, patients, cancer coordinators, and management really need from these tools. (tip: our new Pathpoint Oncology CMS is designed to meet these needs!) We were also pleased to welcome Kaye Davies from Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), who discussed the centralised virtual triage model currently being used for managing skin cancer referrals across the ICB using our Pathpoint eDerma platform. The early outcomes are promising: ✅ Significant reduction in Urgent Skin Cancer referrals to secondary care. ✅ Increased utilisation of the community dermatology provider, ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate care location from the start. ✅ Positive patient feedback on the community SkinHub in primary care. ✅ Projected savings of over £1.2 million in the first year alone. A huge thank you to our speakers, Kaye and Parisa, for sharing their expertise, and to GovConnect for providing the platform to present this session to an engaged ICB audience. 💫 #NHS #CancerCare #DigitalInnovation #Oncology #DigitalHealth #DigitalTransformation #HealthTech #IntegratedCare
