After 2.5 years, the time has come for me to move on from my role as Non-Executive Director on the Board of GoodWork. I have had the privilege of being part of the team from the very beginning helping to set up the company and lay the foundations for the governance structures that have supported GoodWork’s growth. Other milestones include setting up our impact measuring framework, publishing our very first impact report, and growing our amazing Board. However, my personal highlight will always be interviewing many impressive young people for our very first cohort and feeling inspired by every single one of them. GoodWork supports young people who face systemic barriers to access the training and opportunities they need to tranisition successfully into the workforce. This mission is a cause close to my heart and whilst I may be moving on from my official role, I remain deeply committed to the values and vision GoodWork stands for. Thank you to Felicity Halstead for believing in me and bringing me on as one of the two first Board members along with the fab Dale Graham. And to the other members of our Board, I'll miss working with you all. Eleanor Doherty Pavandeep Rai Ph.D Jenny Pater @Matt Hall Orlando Arnold Opportunities for volunteers and new Board roles will be coming up, so give GoodWork a follow if you're interested!

We had a brilliant day at Baker McKenzie on Friday, jam packed with learning from some fantastic guest speakers. Stephen Craggs and Bernadette Mordi-Clarke kicked the day off with an insight to the legal sector and shared some great stories about their own experiences with our cohort. Later in the day, we were joined by Caitlin Rozario from interlude for a fantastic session on anti-toxic productivity and the tools we can all use to manage our work and lives a little more effectively. We also worked on cover letter skills throughout the day, supporting our participants to transition into employment. A fantastic way to round up a week in which we also saw six fantastic job offers made to young people on our programmes 🎉 Huge thanks to Steve and the team at Baker McKenzie for hosting us and to Caitlin for delivering such a thought provoking session ❤️

It's Social Mobility Day and this year's focus is on sharing moments to champion equitable employment opportunities for all. At GoodWork, championing social mobility is the heart of our mission. We work with 18 to 25 year olds from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who haven't had the opportunities or support they need to start their careers. The young people we support are often overlooked by employers who fail to see their potential and compare them unfairly to those whose privilege has allowed them to get ahead. We're proud to work with amazing employers, funders and volunteers who believe in our mission and in the young people we work with. Thank you for supporting our growth so that we can #ShareMoments from our programmes and build our community ❤️

We are two years old today 🎂 Team GoodWork is celebrating our second birthday today, taking a look back at a brilliant two years of progress towards our mission to make the world of work fairer for marginalised young people. As we prepare to launch the third and biggest cohort of our programme yet, we're grateful to every funder, partner, volunteer and supporter who has helped us get where we are now. We're excited to continue helping young people achieve their goals for the next two years and beyond ✨
