Yesterday was World Homeless Day. The day offers an important opportunity to recognise and highlight the tireless work organisations and people are undertaking to end homelessness not just in our city-region but across the world. It also offers the chance to reflect and shine a light on the plight of people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. To mark the day we thought it appropriate to do what we do best, run a not-so usual fundraiser! Last night Greater Manchester saw teams competing across the city-region in the Big GREATer Manchester Pub Quiz. The event raised over £2,300 which is an incredible 78 nights off the streets in A Bed Every Night accomodation. This scheme offers food, accommodation and full wrap around support for anyone who needs it across Greater Manchester. Feedback from teams so far has been incredible. Our events get people together, give time for colleagues and teams to socialise and enjoy downtime, all while united behind an important cause. Thank you to everyone who took part, we couldn't do it without you! A special shout-out to the JW Lees Brewery teams behind the scenes - an excellent group of people and we couldn't wish for better hosts - and a huge thank you to our quiz masters including the lead Joe McGrath, and the wonderful Jim Page and Daniel Craddick. We will be back again, and of course, it will be even bigger than before. Sharma Cook Fran Darlington-Pollock Jess Gibbs Connor M. Francesca King Louise Clarke Laura Field

Today’s the day of the Big GREATer Manchester Pub Quiz, are you joining us? As always our fundraising events would not be possible without the support and generosity of business and organisations across Greater Manchester. Businesses like Manchester DJ’s who not only loaned us their PA system but also generously donated a prize for the raffle. Thank you! Tickets for the raffle, with a full list of prizes will be available for all teams tonight. Look forward to seeing you there!

Today marks World Homeless Day. A day to raise awareness, but also to shine a light on what is being done, locally and nationally, to help eradicate the need for rough sleeping and end homelessness. In Greater Manchester, we know just how hard organisations are working to support people at risk of or or experiencing homelessness, and how challenging the winter ahead will be. To offer some relief we are launching an Autumn Small Awards programme, inviting organisations in Greater Manchester to apply for up to £10k to help them with their work. Yesterday, we picked up our plaque, confirming us as Members of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter from Mayor Andy Burnham. What a way to kickstart #goodemployment week! Today, we're hosting a discussion on good employment, lived experience and complex multiple disadvantage. If you've missed your ticket, keep your eyes peeled for a write up of the discussion. Have you secured tickets for the Big GREATer Manchester Pub Quiz yet? If not, what are you waiting for! This Thursday, Greater Manchester will be home to a city-region wide (and themed) pub quiz and tickets are flying. Coinciding with World Homeless Day, and with all proceeds going towards the flagship scheme A Bed Every Night, we can’t think of a better way to mark the day. Why not invite some of your colleagues to take part? Or challenge another department in your company to find out who has the best ‘manc’ knowledge? This event offers the perfect alternative to Thursday night drinks. Get involved! Decide your venue, find your team (max 6) and sign up now- before it’s too late!: https://buff.ly/3XdoZT4

At the start of September, industry and local government leaders met at our latest policy roundtable, discussing how to unlock delivery of social housing and genuinely affordable housing across Greater Manchester. This welcome conversation signalled an appetite for collaboration, innovation and action. From empty homes to landuse, simplifying funding complexity to creativity with s106s, alot was covered. Our CEO, Fran Darlington-Pollock, will be talking at the pro-manchester Property & Regeneration lunch this Thursday, and picking up some of the themes from that roundtable. An apt coversation for World Homeless Day. Read more here: https://buff.ly/47VLnoT Charlotte Cordingley MRICS APAEWE Clear Futures

You know we love an unusual fundraiser, from pulling buses to spinning decks, we’ll run it. But this one is particularly special! We’re inviting you, Greater Manchester, to be part of a rather large pub quiz. Not just one venue, but multiple pubs dotted around the region all competing in a truly ‘manc’ quiz. What’s more? It’s on World Homeless Day, and we’re dedicating all funds raised to the our flagship scheme, A Bed Every Night. Remaining tickets available here: https://buff.ly/3XdoZT3
