Are employers STILL missing the mark with employees when it comes to #employeewellbeing? A report here from WTW shows this may be the case. Almost half of U.S. employees (48%) are struggling with moderate or major issues in at least two areas of their wellbeing, according to WTW’s 2024 Global Benefits Attitudes Survey (GBAS). Employees with wellbeing issues show lower productivity (higher absence and presenteeism) and report higher rates of burnout and lower levels of engagement. Over half of employees (56%) have above-average levels of stress, while 37% have reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. #employeebenefits #wellbeing https://lnkd.in/eGSRjMJY

There is an unacceptable variation in waits for treatment of different cancers in England, an exclusive analysis for BBC News by Cancer Research UK (CRUK) shows. And in England alone, more than 300,000 cancer patients will miss the target over the next five years unless performance improves, according to Cancer Research UK modelling, which predicts an above 20% rise in referrals. ➡️ At Klarity we are working with insurance companies, wellbeing providers, businesses and employee benefits brokers to help as many people as possible get access to early detection of cancer. Improving Employer Support for Those Working With Cancer: The Bevan Report calls for organisations to develop specific cancer policies, provide training for HR and line managers and review current employee benefits to better support employees with long-term health conditions. HR leaders say many managers are ill-equipped to navigate the complexities of cancer and long-term health issues in the workplace. Working With Cancer's Bevan Report on Improving Employer Support for Those Working With Cancer reveals that 96% of respondents reported that their companies do not have cancer specific policies and only 18% reported collecting data on the number of employees with a cancer diagnosis. #employeewellbeing #employeebenefits https://lnkd.in/eA2zSRj8

Britain's greatest-ever Olympian, who has stunned the nation with the revelation that his own prostate cancer is terminal, recalled being told the shock news of his father's diagnosis in his 2012 autobiography. But unlike Sir Chris, David's cancer was caught early and treated successfully. Sir Chris's grandfather also suffered from prostate cancer, which he too recovered from. Focussing on prevention and modifiable risk factors is so important for us all. From the things we eat to how much alcohol we drink. Early detection is just as important. Did you know? 9 in 10 (90%) men in England diagnosed with prostate cancer aged 15-54 or 55-64 survive their disease for ten years or more, compared with around a quarter (25.6%) of men diagnosed aged 75-99 (2013-2017).
