No ghosts or ghouls haunting homebuyers, sellers, and estate agents this Halloween. 🎃👻 We commissioned a survey of UK estate agents to find out what they believe to be the scariest things that can happen when transacting. The results revealed that the spine-tingling prospect of a transaction falling through ranked at the top. Our Co-founder and CEO Colby Short, commented: “Making it onto the property ladder is one of life’s milestone achievements, but it’s a process that can be fraught with pitfalls around every corner, whether it’s delays due to a chain, structural issues flagged in surveys, down valuations or, of course, the dreaded fall through - to name but a few. "The nature of the property transaction process in the UK means that sometimes such pitfalls are unavoidable. But when you deliver exceptional results, you shouldn’t need to undervalue your service with the best agents consistently achieving higher sales prices for vendors. At GetAgent, we prioritise performance over price, using objective data to showcase the top local agents based on: - Percentage of the asking price they achieve - Average time it takes to agree on a sale - Number of properties listed within a specific radius 🌟 Let's shift the focus from price to performance.
💥SAVE MONEY WHEN SELLING YOUR HOME We all know the saying, pay cheap, pay twice. In the world of estate agency, this is amplified, as you could find yourself significantly worse off if you select the wrong agent to sell your home. The data points to the average agent charging 1% and achieving roughly 95% of a homes asking price, achieving you 94% of your marketed sales price. Better agents, who lets assume are charging 2% and are much more likely to be in the cohort of agents that achieve asking prices for their clients, or even above asking price, could net you as much as the full marketed sales value, if they were to achieve 2% above the asking price. As a worst case scenario, the best agent in town has only got to outperform the average agent by 1% of the sales price for you to be in the exact same position, but safe in the knowledge that you will have worked with a quality operator, and given yourself the best chance of success. Don’t choose cheap, don’t pay twice. If an agent doesn’t respect their own income, do not expect them to respect yours. #LondonEstateAgent #FineAndCountry #chiswickestateagent #ealingestateagent
