Our November issue is now available to read in print and online: https://bit.ly/3YrixIM From page 18, we interview managing director of Lydwood, Emma Jones, who took the helm of the family company in 2021. Celebrating 60 years of trading, the business has evolved from a relatively small outfit making cedar home extensions and one-off production runs, to a multi-faceted operation producing everything from simple #components and #plywood packaging to complex laminated #oak products. From page 40 onwards, you’ll find a curated array of the latest and greatest in #CNC #machinery, from HOMAG’s pioneering #automated solutions for #window #manufacturing to JJ Smith & Co (Woodworking Machinery) Ltd's innovative #woodworking machinery for garden product manufacturing. Elsewhere, we focus on #Fittings, #Materials & #Components – headed up by our cover star, Titus Group, with details of the newest addition to its Tekform family of draw systems – as well as #Sanding #Technology, with the exciting launch of Mirka (UK) Ltd®’s DEXOS 1217 M AFC #dust #extractor. Our #October issue is now available to view online and in print: https://bit.ly/3zRYpHt Ahead of the upcoming Autumn Statement and Spending Review, there are increasing calls for the Government to publish further details on its long-awaited industrial strategy. Despite some uncertainty surrounding this, findings from Make UK and BDO’s latest Manufacturing Outlook report for Q3 2024 indicate that firms are forecasting a boost to overall economic prospects from a period of greater political stability, with almost 6 in 10 expecting better growth over the next 12 months as a result. Against this unsettled yet hopeful backdrop, our October issue features numerous case studies and insightful articles. On page 14, we explore a recent installation at September’s London Design Festival entitled ‘CascadeUp’. Masterminded by University College London’s Circular Economy Lab and UK CLT, the structure utilises waste wood remanufactured to create a #sustainable alternative to high-carbon structural products. Within our #installations section, discover how the Biesse Rover B FT HD has transformed Unitech Oxon’s kitchen machining operation; explore Extractly Ltd’s installation and commissioning of a comprehensive new dust extraction system at Sweet Joinery Ltd, and learn how HOMAG machinery enhanced the operational efficiency of Hurst Doors. Elsewhere, we explore the latest and greatest in #surfacing and decorative #panels, #saws and #cutting #technology, #software & #automation, and solid #wood processing. The #September issue of Furniture & Joinery Production Magazine is now available to read online and in print. With the threat of a “painful” Autumn #budget looming, the UK’s #manufacturing industry urgently waits for further details of the Government’s strategy. Having fallen out of the top 10 manufacturing nations for the first time since the Industrial Revolution, the emphasis on creating a cohesive and ambitious industrial plan for the UK has perhaps never been so pivotal. We can all agree on the tremendous potential of this sector to perform on an international stage, were it to have the appropriate funding and support. In particular, investment in green technologies, the movement towards #digitalisation and Industry 4.0, and an ability to remain agile when it comes to international trade relationships will all have a significant bearing on its long-term standing and prosperity on the world stage. Regardless of the political climate, the projects, people and products within our September issue are a testament to the passion and tremendous skill level within the #furniture #manufacturing industry as a whole. From page 18, find details of Daltons Wadkin's 2024 Wood and Panel Machinery Show, as well as numerous open house events taking place this month, hosted by the likes of the AES Group, Biesse, KÜNDIG Group and J & C O'Meara Woodworking Machinery. Amongst others, our installations section explores the far-reaching impact of AXYZ CNC Routers routers on the educational offering of Strathallan School in Edinburgh, as well as the improvement in efficiency and capacity See Limited has experienced as a result of integrating HOMAG’s STORETEQ P-500 storage system and SAWTEQ S-300 panel dividing saw. Elsewhere, Medite Smartply’s Head of Business Development, Roly Ward, fills us in on the company’s impressive range of moisture-resistant MDF panels (p. 52) and Mirka’s Business Sector Manager for Wood, UK, Neil Newbrook, discusses the unique attributes and benefits of Ultimax® Ligno (p.66). #September's issue is available to read at https://bit.ly/3XdzUfL #furnitureindustry #furnituremanufacturing #manufacturing #b2b #magazine #dustextraction #woodwaste #adhesives #events #openhouse #installations #news #woodworking #joinery #CNC #MDF
