The two available funds offer vital support to small and growing businesses and will play a pivotal role in strengthening opportunities for new innovations and green jobs, particularly in high-potential sectors such as #cleanenergy. 💚 The Freeport East Clean Growth Fund offers financial assistance to local businesses operating within clean energy and Freeport East’s other target sectors, such as green hydrogen, agritech, engineering and digital. 🗺 The Freeport East Innovation and Skills Fund focuses on building access to innovation and skills opportunities, particularly in underserved communities and in sectors relevant to the Freeport East area, such as clean energy, logistics and trade. 📢Today saw the ground-breaking ceremony of a new 44,000 sq ft distribution centre at Gateway 14... Bauder Flat Roofs, a leading international manufacturer of flat roof building construction materials including solutions for green roofs and solar PV arrays, is the latest business to invest in their presence in Suffolk and the freeport at the state-of-the-art business, innovation and logistics park near Stowmarket. Bauder's parent company is in Germany but this site will become the company's biggest distribution location in the UK enabling them to grow and strengthen their presence in Ipswich and the UK market. It also adds to the emerging cluster of sustainable construction firms at Gateway 14 and the wider area, providing opportunities to attract wider investments whilst building University linkages and skills support. Freeport East is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Innovating for Transport and Energy Systems (ITES) to advance innovation in clean transport technologies and boost bilateral trade between India and the UK 🇮🇳🤝🇬🇧 ✒ Freeport East CEO Steve Beel and Andrew Stokes of Energy Systems Catapult have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a collaboration with ITES which aims to drive innovation in green transport solutions and attract significant private-sector investment. 💚The partnership between Freeport East and ITES aims to encourage key industry players and public bodies to co-develop and deploy transport decarbonisation projects by creating mutually beneficial investment opportunities and enhancing bilateral trade between India and the UK.
