It was only a month ago today that Alex Salmond was talking to the #FPA about what he has been most passionate about all his life: Scottish Independence. The leader of @albaparty who had achieved an historic victory becoming the first SNP First Minister in Scotland, was determined that if he could succeed once with a #scottishreferendum then he could do it again. It was not meant to be. The FPA is shocked at his sudden death. RIP. #alexsalmond #scotland #scottishindependence #scottishreferendum #albaparty #snp #rip

The clock is ticking for Alaa Abd el-Fattah, the British-Egyptian citizen and blogger imprisoned in Egypt. This Sunday 29th September he would have completed his 5-year sentence in an Egyptian prison but his family believes he will NOT be released. Today we met his sisters Sanaa and Mona Seif who ask the UK Government to act proactively to ensure their brother is released. 🆓After the long battle for freedom for Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe (led by husband Richard Ratcliffe) she joined the panel to bring her experience and support, together with Fiona O’Brien, UK Director Reporters Sans Frontieres Alaa’s sisters are now asking to meet the new Labour Foreign Secretary, David Lammy: 👉<<What we are asking for is not to declare Alaa innocent, even though Alaa is innocent. We are not asking the UK government to push for proper investigation into the torture that Alaa suffered from at the beginning of this imprisonment. We are not asking them for compensation for more than 10 years Alaa had to endure this injustice in prison. What we are asking for is very simple, very straightforward. We are asking for the UK government to ensure that Alaa is released after he had fully served the illegitimate sentence of five years>>. #alaa #freedomforalaa @freedomforalaa #freepress #freedom #nazaninzaghariratcliffe #rsf @rsfinternational @foreignanddevelopmentoffice @david.lammy @sixparkplace

Harry is 40 today. This week we had a chance of an extensive briefing with author Robert Jobson @robertjobson on his latest #biography on Catherine the Princess of Wales. And of course we asked him THE question… 🙋 Any chance for a reconciliation? Jobson thinks it’s a matter of trust that has been broken between William and Harry and therefore he does not see a possibility of a reconciliation between them. But turning 40 at least will solve some money issues for Harry… #harry #harry40thbirthday #RoyalFamily #Catherine #dukeofsussex #britishmonarchy #sundayreads #bookstagram #bestsellers

An independent Scotland? On the 10th anniversary of the #referendum on #Scottishindependence which resulted in 55,3% ‘NO’ , we met Alex Salmond @alexsalmond, former First Minister of Scotland and leader of the pro-indipendence Party, Alba @albaparty We discussed what are the next steps towards a possible Independent Scotland. #FPA #FPAbriefings Deborah Bonetti moderating #FPAmembers After the downfall of the SNP and the rise of Labour in Scotland, ( and after being cleared in court) Salmond is stepping forward porsuing a new independence majority in the Scottish Parliament. Elections in Scotland in 2026 will be decisive for his party to reposition ‘project Independence’ back on track … What do you think: independent Scotland YES or NO?
