📢 UK Nature Accelerator: deadline for Expressions of Interest extended! Thanks to all who have submitted an Expression of Interest for the UK Nature Accelerator Round 2 thus far.💡 We recognise that some project developers did not have the capacity to submit applications before Monday’s deadline, with many of their team members away over August. As we’re keen to maximise the reach of the Accelerator by hearing from as many project providers as possible, we have therefore decided to extend the deadline for Expression of Interest submissions to Friday 6th September. Projects will be selected for inclusion in the Accelerator on an ongoing basis, so we encourage potential applicants to submit their EOI as soon as possible. Please see our website for further details, and submit your EOI here👉 https://lnkd.in/evMHRNy2 Please let us know if you have any questions at [email protected]. #UKnature #Naturefinance #Naturebasedsolutions

About us
Finance Earth (formerly Environmental Finance) is a leading environmental impact investment advisor and fund manager, working across the conservation, natural and built asset sectors to create innovative, investable projects. Our mission is to redirect private capital into the environment to fill the $600-800 billion p.a. global conservation funding gap. We're excited to participate in a groundbreaking event on 10th September, 7pm, at Tate Modern, on New Models for Nature Recovery. The event will bring the discussion about rewilding and nature recovery forward by providing an overview of the new economic and investment opportunities that can fund biodiversity initiatives and deliver ecosystem services 🍃 💸 Alongside well-known environmentalist Ben Goldsmith and rewilding pioneer Charlie Burrell, Alicia Gibson, one of our Directors, will speak about the evolving field of natural capital investment and the emerging business models and financing mechanisms that can unlock critical funding for nature recovery in the UK. Book your tickets for the one-hour talk, which is part of the EA Festival, at Corner, Tate’s bar-café, here: https://lnkd.in/eqBUcaPh

Finance Earth is proud to have contributed to this Natural Flood Management (NFM) Research Fund paper. We hope that this proposal will be taken up by the insurance sector to unlock delivery of NFM at scale. Caleb Wheeler-Robinson #flood #insurance #climatechange #nature #NFM
With the increased risk of flooding due to a changing climate, there is increasingly a need to finance natural flood management interventions alongside traditional infrastructure to protect lives and livelihoods. In March 2024, the Green Finance Institute published the Financing Natural Flood Management (NFM) report, in which a lack of demand for flood risk outcomes from private sector buyers was highlighted as a major barrier to scaling the delivery of NFM. In this follow-on paper, we explore the role of the insurance sector as potential buyers of NFM outcomes. By working with insurers and other stakeholders, we have co-developed an innovative NFM Research Fund proposal. Designed to leverage R&D funding from the insurance sector, the NFM Research Fund would act to further the evidence base for NFM, build the commercial understanding of NFM within the insurance industry, and scale the funding available for NFM projects. 📽 We're proud to share a snapshot of our collaborative work in our short documentary film, 'Upscaling Investment in Nature' 🌱 📈 It's an honour to be featured in CFA UK & Content With Purpose's series, demonstrating how we drive our mission to mobilise investment in nature conservation, climate, and communities. Huge thanks to our partners Sarah Jane Chimbwandira at Surrey Wildlife Trust and Steve McGoohan at Federated Hermes Limited for contributing! Learn more about what we do to scale nature investment and deliver long-term social and environmental benefits here ➡ https://lnkd.in/dqMBgBAx #InvestingForTomorrowsEnvironment #GreenFinance #ImpactInvesting #NatureMarkets #RestoreNature
Current funding to tackle the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss falls billions of pounds short of what is required. Mobilising and scaling investment into conservation, climate, and communities requires financial products that support these goals. Finance Earth exemplifies this effort as an FCA-regulated corporate finance advisor and fund manager. By partnering with environmental NGOs, governments, and businesses, Finance Earth develops long-term social and environmental impact. Their approach delivers finance and investment structures that benefit nature, communities, and investors. We were delighted to attend the National Landscapes Association Annual Conference in Shropshire last week 🌳 Our team members Yann Grandemange and Scott Mitchell conducted workshops discussing Principles for National Landscapes to engage with Green Finance opportunities, exploring how #greenfinance can support the vital work of preserving and enhancing some of the UK's most cherished landscapes. We are thrilled to be partnering with the National Landscapes Association to develop a Green Finance strategy aimed at leveraging new funding sources. This collaboration is a key part of our ongoing efforts to catalyse more funding for critical habitat restoration across the UK's Protected Landscapes. Find out more about our partnership ➡ https://lnkd.in/eQXG7zUp We look forward to building on the insights and connections made at the Conference as we continue this important work. #natureprotection #natureinvestment #conservationfinance

Please do get in touch if you're working on any forestry projects integrating revenues from payments for ecosystem services in the EU or internationally. We'd love to include your project and learnings in a report we're putting together for the European Investment Bank (EIB). Nature-based solutions and blue economy partnerships with civil society, European Investment Bank (EIB)
Do you know any forestry projects integrating payments for ecosystem services into their sustainable forest business model/plan? We are working with Finance Earth to identify forestry projects that are generating complementary revenue streams through enhancing forest ecosystem services (eg biodiversity, watershed services, soil conservation, recreational/ecotourism, carbon storage/sequestration). PES can strengthen incentives for land managers to adopt biodiversity- and climate-friendly forest management practices and compensate foregone income, supporting the multifunctional role of forests in line with the EU Forest Strategy. Through this assignment, we want to identify promising cases and prepare guidance to build capacity of forestry stakeholders for identifying and developing ecosystem services monetization opportunities. Please drop us a note if you’re aware of relevant projects/initiatives (inside or outside the EU) that we should look at!
