Another incredible day in Cannes tackling the issues at the heart of the drive for programmatic supply chain transparency, and the launch of the ANA-TAG TrustNet Programmatic Transparency Benchmark. AJ Brown, COO, of the Brand Safety Institute, moderated our panel on the inclusion of CTV in the Benchmark - the first time CTV has been assessed against key transparency metrics. And Joe Zawadzki, Chairman, FxM led the discussion as Bill Duggan, Group Exec VP, Association of National Advertisers, Amy Williams, CEO, Good-Loop, Lou Paskalis, CEO, AJL Advisory, and Tim Brown, CEO of Fiducia reviewed exactly what the Benchmark means in terms of next steps for advertisers. PROGRESS! Spend on MFA sites has decreased from 15% to 4%. The # websites used by an avg. participant dropped from 44k to 23k. It's really rare for a trade association to make such a substantial impact on the heels of just one groundbreaking research study. Kudos to Bob Liodice, Bill Duggan and our friends at TAG TrustNet for doing so. It was exactly a year ago in Cannes when TRUSTX and the Association of National Advertisers announced the results of ANA's Programmatic Transparency Study. On the patio at Belle Plage, with about 75 industry veterans attending an invite-only lunch panel, Tom Triscari, Lou Paskalis, Allison Schiff and I debated the possible prescriptions for dramatically reducing our industry's latest TLA, "MFA." We urged our marketer and agency colleagues to shift from exclusion to inclusion, to get serious about validating (at the log level) where their ads were running, and to eliminate non-transparent supply-paths from their programmatic media buys. None of us could have predicted the speed with which the entire ecosystem would jump on board, nor the positive results just one year later. Nice to see some generally good news coming out of our industry. I'm optimistic we can keep up the good work.

Huge day in Cannes for the launch of the ANA-TAG TrustNet Programmatic Transparency Benchmark. Recognizing the need to help marketers take control over their programmatic supply chains, the Benchmark is the next step towards industry transparency following the findings of the ANA Programmatic Media Supply Chain Transparency Study.  The Benchmark collects, reconciles, aggregates, and analyzes the data of contributing marketers on an ongoing basis to evaluate how programmatic is evolving towards a more transparent and efficient marketplace.   Individual benchmark reports, provided exclusively to participating advertisers help brands identify areas of optimization in their own ad spend productivity by comparing their supply chain metrics to the aggregated Benchmark averages over time.
