The UEFA finals are upon us, so in support of England's bid to win we've released two ads with Andrex. The first is a full-page letter for the sports section of The Times addressed to the England football manager, Gareth Southgate, philosophising on how a great England team is a lot like a great poo. Written on a roll of Andrex toilet tissue, of course. The second builds on the “Squeaky Bum Time” phrase – a football term coined by Sir Alex Ferguson for when things get tense – we're running OOH ads in Manchester and London. Years in the making, we're so pleased to share the launch of a new tool, AdVocab in partnership with D&AD Shift. Concepted and created by FCB LDNers, Art Director Amy Bland and Copywriter Sacha Burke, with illustrations and design by our wonderful designer, Dante Attuoni. New to the ad world when the pandemic hit, Amy and Sacha were just getting to grips with their new jobs when everyone started working from home. With bigger questions to ask and more important things to learn, they felt silly asking their more experienced colleagues about Adland jargon - who can relate? 🎯 And so AdVocab was born. The site includes commonly used industry words and phrases, alongside definitions and brought to life with illustrations. We've just launched a global campaign for Škoda Auto, spotlighting the brand’s long-standing partnership with the Tour de France 🚲 For over 20 years, Škoda has been closely linked to professional cycling, with early roots in bike manufacturing. This year, Škoda aims to use the excitement of the Tour to engage audiences in their love of cycling and encourage them to get involved. The Czech carmaker is also supporting the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift for the third year in a row. 🎥 Our latest campaign with Unite Students, "Live. Your. Now.", features real students capturing their lives authentically. Selected from hundreds of applicants, four students received a crash course in filming from FCB director Charlie Coombes and were set to task documenting their experiences over a month, with the footage used to supplement a traditional film shoot to fill out the brand story. 📱 These real-time clips, from club nights to laundry trips, formed the basis of the brand film, enhanced by high-energy animations. The soundtrack by Charlie Baker complements the visuals, adding to the dynamic portrayal of student life. 🏠 Shelley Wilde, Unite Students says; “Unite Students provides a home for over 70,000 students to grow, find a community, belong and thrive. Minor chaos ensues while its sweetheart makes chase alongside the car, trying to stay close. ❤️ The romance is dialled up by the soundtrack, while the voiceover concludes with the line, “Discover a new kind of space,” a nod to the internal space of the car while reinforcing Skoda's commitment to exploration and adventure.
