🎉 Today marks the end of our birthday week – but it’s certainly not the end of our celebrations, stay tuned for more to come! In the meantime, let’s remember why we do what we do... Over the next ten years, our ambition is to enable the 2 million young people eligible for free school meals to have an employment and earnings potential that is equitable to other young people in the UK. Currently, where you start in life plays a huge role in where you end up. Young people who qualify for free school meals are three times more likely than their peers to be unemployed by the age of 27. This needs to change. 💪 You can help us create this change. If you want to play a part in transforming the lives of young people, visit our website to volunteer, fundraise, collaborate, and advocate for change: https://lnkd.in/etD2vFsB #DecadeOfImpact #GetInvolved #ThankYou

👏 And that’s a wrap! Congratulations to all the young people who completed one of our employability skills programmes over the summer months. There have been too many highlights to mention, but it’s been wonderful to watch you challenge yourselves and develop your skills and confidence, whilst supporting your peers along the way. We’re looking forward to seeing what you achieve with your mentors over the coming months! This summer, our 17 programmes across the UK brought together: · 348 young people, · 621 volunteers, and · 25 employer partners. This would not have been possible without our committed volunteers, who have given their time to share their knowledge and experience, and our fantastic employer partners, who have provided participants with invaluable insight into their industries and sectors. A huge thank you to everyone involved! 👉 If you’re an employer keen to showcase your sector to talented, diverse young people whilst advancing your DEI and ESG goals, reach out to [email protected] to learn more about our employability programmes running next year. 👉 If you’re a young person wanting to join an EY Foundation programme in the future, keep an eye on our website: https://lnkd.in/dfJ6kZeY #EmployabilitySkills #YouthEmployment #SocialMobility

🔍 At the EY Foundation, we’ve been working with Groundswell Innovation, to understand the work experience landscape in the UK and how digital could be used to increase impact. Work experience is essential to ensuring students gain confidence and understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the workplace. It also gives employers insights into working with young people and access to emerging talent. However, placement opportunities and quality of work experience continue to be inconsistent across the country. 💡 This research looks at how work experience could change to reduce inequalities, focusing on the role technology could play to support both employers and young people. 👀 Read the full findings and recommendations below, which include case studies of work experience best-practice. #WorkExperience #Report #YouthEmployment

🤞 Good luck to everyone collecting their A Level, T level and VTQ results today – including some students who are part way through their EY Foundation programmes (we’re excited to hear how you’ve done)! We really hope you’re happy with them and that they reflect your hard work as well as allowing you to take the next step towards your goals. If they’re not what you wanted, it’s understandable that you may be disappointed or frustrated, but please remember that there are multiple routes into a potential career and grades do not determine all outcomes! 🤝 If you need support or to speak to someone about how you’re feeling today or during the next couple of weeks, do reach out to organisations like Mind and Student Minds for professional support and advice. Good luck! 🍀 #Results #ALevels #ResultsDay
