🌍 Extreme Hangout Dubai - A Memorable Experience! 🌍 On January 24th, 2025, we came together at the Pakistan Association Dubai to create an inspiring platform where sustainability met innovation, organized by Pakistan Youth Forum & Earth Warriorz Pakistan. I feel honored to have been part of the organizing team for this impactful event. The day started with planting at PAD. Then prayer break and finally my recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a reflective tone for the activities ahead. One of the highlights was our skit performance — a unique mix of fun, motivation, and learning on the topic of sustainability. It was heartwarming to see how much the audience enjoyed it and took away meaningful insights from it! The event was filled with amazing opportunities to learn and connect, featuring: ✨ Inspirational talks from global sustainability leaders including Hussein Gubran (I forgot to take pic along with him as I invited him to be a speaker 😭😭), Emaan Danish Khan , Erfan Firouzi , H.H. Mr. Hussain Muhammad, Ahad Anwar , Waqas Bin Najib , and more. ✨ Workshop for hands-on learning by Emaan ✨ The Great Wall of Earth, celebrating environmental action ✨ Networking opportunities with like-minded individuals ✨ Food, art, and other stalls as well! It was a day full of energy, purpose, and engagement, reminding us of the power of collaboration for a greener future. Extreme Hangout Dubai: A Day to Remember! 🌿🌍 I’m beyond grateful to share that we successfully hosted Extreme Hangout Dubai, organized by Earth Warriorz Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Youth Forum at Pakistan Association Dubai , in the esteemed presence of H.E Mr. Hussain Mohammad Consul General of Pakistan in UAE. Collaborating with Pakistan Youth Forum made everything smoother, and hosting it at Pakistan Association Dubai, a true home away from home, made it even more special for me. The event started with a meaningful tree plantation drive, followed by an engaging Plant-for-the-Planet Academy session, which I had the honor of leading alongside Arham Zia. Seeing young changemakers eager to take climate action was truly inspiring! We were lucky to have an incredible keynotes of speakers, including: 🌱 Hussein Gubran 🌱 Ahad Anwar 🌱 Erfan Firouzi whose talks and opera stole the show! The event’s highlights included the beautiful Earth Wall, Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation Academy by myself and Muhammad Arham Zia , engaging stalls, and of course, the delicious food, all thanks to the dedication of Aisha M and Zahra Mawji . A special shoutout to Clonlara School for putting up an amazing Green Games Station and Sameera Mohammad for pulling up an engaging panel. A special feature was a Earth Wall by the talented artists from all across UAE. The event ended with a special feature film Last Glaciers by Plastic Oceans International. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event a success. New Year, New Sustainability Regulations: Are You Ready? 🌍💼 Global momentum for transparency in sustainability and climate risks is accelerating. A terrific analysis from Norton Rose Fulbright provides a must-read breakdown of sustainability-related financial disclosure regimes around the world. Some key takeaways: -Australia: Starting this year, large entities must disclose climate risks and opportunities aligned with ISSB standards. Singapore: Listed companies already must make TCFD-aligned disclosures, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has been pushing for emissions reporting in the years to come. -Japan: Climate disclosures have already been mandated for large companies, with Sustainability Standards Board of Japan（SSBJ）standards coming into effect shortly. -New Zealand: The Climate-Related Disclosures Act was a global leader in making climate risk reporting and the TCFD mandatory for financial institutions and large firms. -Brazil: Listed companies are required to disclose ESG information, with climate risks becoming an increasingly prominent focus in regulatory updates. -United Kingdom: Expanding on the Sustainability Disclosure Reporting (SDR) mandate, closely aligned with the ISSB -European Union: The CSRD is reshaping sustainability reporting for thousands of companies with detailed and mandatory requirements. -United States: Despite the likely pullback at the federal level, state bills like California's SB 253, 261, and 219 mandate climate risk and emissions disclosures -Canada: Climate disclosures under Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) - Autorités canadiennes en valeurs mobilières (ACVM) rules began in 2024.
