I just joined the Everymind at Work webinar where Paul McGregor talked about how to engage hard to reach men in wellbeing initiatives which was interesting and gave me plenty of ideas to consider 🤔 so thank you Paul! It’s a topic we need to talk about throughout the year but Movember is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of men’s health (mainly prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health) with the key aim to reduce preventable deaths. ❗️TW: Did you know that globally, 1 man dies by suicide, every minute of every day? 💔 Men account for around 75% of all suicides in the UK and it’s the leading cause of death for men Under 50. We can’t sit back and accept this. More needs to be done. We are promoting this important campaign at The Growth Company through our colleague newsletter, our manager comms and we have created a toolkit to support local conversations at team level. 🗣️ I’m curious to know what my network has put in place to try and ensure the relevant support is in place and that men (including non binary and trans) are engaging and feel supported? What’s worked well in your workplace? Everymind goes on tour ✈️ Our trainers Kayleigh, Simonè and Milly have been darting all over the UK to deliver in-person manager training workshops to the Mars team. They're delivering our “Creating Cognitive Behavioural Change” course to the Co-op team within Mars Wrigley (shout out to Matthew Pettit for organising). The course uses Cognitive Behavioural Coaching techniques and tools to help people be self-aware of their thoughts and behaviours in response to stress and how to begin to challenge them. With collaboration from Lucy Searle (from the Mars team), our clinical and training development team at Everymind were able to create a bespoke course that really focuses on the individual challenges those in sales roles and functions experience. Kayleigh shared "The team were so engaged and brave in sharing their own experiences with each other and us as trainers… Even I took some golden nuggets away from the day! By being open and sharing with each other, they helped create a room full of support and understanding which will now flow into the connection they have as a team. They now know how each of them think and respond to stress which is so powerful when it comes to building a more supportive and inclusive team.… and of course the choccy was an added bonus!" Truth is, our workshops are unlike any other. And so are our trainers. So imagine the impact when you put the two together. #manager #training

Mental Health First Aiders have heavy conversations every day ...with nowhere to turn to for support themselves. To keep supporting people like they do, they need to have access to the support they give to others. The Everymind platform gives them a safe place to go. They can log their conversation, reflect on how they feel about it and if they're not okay, get access to on-demand support. To learn more about how it works, drop us a message or comment below. #support #mhfa
