We are thrilled to announce that Eupnoos has emerged as the winner of the prestigious “Platón Challenge” organized by AstraZeneca Spain and Kunsen! This initiative, aims to support the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, enhancing the diagnosis and clinical management of signs and symptoms in cancer patients. Competing against 34 innovative projects we are honored to have our efforts recognized. Our software application is designed to detect and monitor Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) through the patient's respiratory sounds, a significant step forward in digital health. Cancer patients often face various symptoms and adverse effects due to treatments, which can sometimes lead to discontinuation of highly effective therapies. Our mission is to leverage new technologies to facilitate the identification and clinical management of these adverse effects, improving patient outcomes and well-being. This recognition validates our work and encourages us to continue pushing the boundaries of digital health innovation. As always a massive shout out to the Eupnoos team, especialy Dr. Deepak Kotak MD for leading our efforts to success

Rewiring Consulting for the 21st Century

Finished off #LondonTechWeek 2024 with a content-rich fringe #healthtech event at The Francis Crick Institute  AI, ML and Beyond: Charting the Future of Healthcare Technology and Innovation in Life Sciences gave a snapshot of the realistic optimism of health, science, #entrepreneurship and #investment across two panels: Pioneering Precision: Al & Ml Shaping The Future Of #DrugDiscovery And Formulation with Nelli Morgulchik of Hummingbird Ventures Lindsay Edwards of Relation Therapeutics Rory Ryan of PentaBind  Kristína Uličná of Valence Labs Peter Harries of Causaly  Moderated by Tanmay Gupta, PhD of GetSeen Ventures Cutting-edge Care: AI and ML Transformations in #Digitalhealth and #MedTech with  Andrew Welchman of ieso Natalie Pankova, PhD #Deeptech Ventures at ZINC  Shahid Bobat of GSK Meri Beckwith of Lindus Health Moderated by Andrea Balukova, Spark Meetup Some quick despatches and takeaways: AI has been in healthcare for years, driving realism about potential. Now AI is a commodity, it's about application to the right problems. Selecting use cases is the most important factor in success; discovery is inefficient and costly ($2.4bn per drug). Morgulchik: we're "moving out of the trough of disillusionment" on the application of ML to life sciences, though stats on success are skewed towards larger companies. Priority should be reducing failure rate at Stage III trials says Edwards: "instead of getting to the wrong answer faster we need to get the right answer more often" #Changemanagement and buy-in are as vital as the application of tech: leadership support for top-down change and advocates at operational level are essential, says Harries Panel 2: Beckwith shared experience using private #GPT models to turn four-week tasks into jobs done in seconds. Welchman noted that previous #dtx "were not engaging - LLMs can now generate much more interesting content" also reporting encouraging experiments with #genai in digital mental health serviced. Bobat noted early #dtx focused on clinical outcomes rather than #healtheconomics, a key driver for getting procured by NHS and other payers. With commoditisation of AI, gaining regulatory approval "can create a moat of competitive advantage" said Pankova, noting FDA has been proactive and helpful in encouraging AI in DTX. Future optimism around #preventativecare, personalised interventions, #LLMs for companion chatbots, precision neuroscience tools and advances in #businessmodels Shout out to startup pitch winner: Arshia Gratiot of Eupnoos the "Shazam of Lung Function" + runners up Ali Jawad - Pyrexia optimising healthcare admin Jazz Rasool - @Atmascape Mental health selfies Krzysztof Potempa - BRAINCURES Biological enabled precision medicine Luminity This event was a collaboration between Spark Meetup, KQ Labs, ZINC and Global Tech Advocates HealthTech Crick Science Entrepreneur Network (CSEN)

Founder and CEO @ Eupnoos | Revolutionizing Respiratory Disease Detection

While i enjoy writing updates on Linkedin, my favourite one's involve sharing the achievements of the Eupnoos team in advancing the company and our science. Anyone working in digital health and (more importantly) in areas which are focused on population health addressing massive unmet need will know that the biggest challenges a company can face when developing a new technology is building credibility amongst clinicians, generating real world evidence where none exists, bringing investors on side when there is little commercial gain in the early stages. To stay the course , deliver against targets, build relationships and networks with clinicians, partners and in the face of these headwinds is no mean feat. To that end i would like to share an important update Our abstract titled Developing an acoustic digital model with smartphone-based technology for the identification of restrictive lung disease has been accepted by the European Respiratory Society for the annual conference in September. Massive kudos to the team for pulling it together Dr Lindsay Welch Mahdi Shaban Chas Sheppard Salman Siddiqui https://lnkd.in/edxXYW98 Looking forward to many more successes big and small!

In today's rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, there's a growing recognition of the interconnectedness of various bodily systems and the need for a holistic approach to disease prevention and management. Nowhere is this more evident than in the case of lung health, which plays a critical role in influencing the onset and progression of multiple conditions, including diabetes mellitus (Type 2), heart failure, and renal failure. Consider the staggering statistics surrounding type 2 diabetes in the UK, where approximately 1 in 15 people are living with this condition. What's particularly concerning is the direct correlation between high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes and impaired lung function. Studies have shown that raising average blood sugar levels from 4 mmol/L to 12 mmol/L could result in a significant 20% decline in lung capacity, underscoring the profound impact of diabetes on pulmonary health. Similarly, heart failure, a condition that becomes increasingly prevalent with age, is closely intertwined with lung abnormalities. Lung function abnormalities, both at rest and during exercise, are frequently observed in patients with chronic heart failure, even in the absence of respiratory disease. This highlights the intricate interplay between cardiac and pulmonary health and the importance of addressing both aspects in disease management. Furthermore, renal failure, another common health concern, is not exempt from the pulmonary impact. Emerging evidence suggests that lung function abnormalities are prevalent in patients with renal failure, further emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach to healthcare that encompasses multiple bodily systems. In this context, technologies like Eupnoos are invaluable assets in the healthcare arsenal, designed to monitor lung function across the spectrum of disease. Much like how body temperature measurements serve as vital indicators in detecting conditions such as sepsis or viral infections, Eupnoos provides real-time insights into lung function, enabling early detection of deterioration and prompt intervention. By embracing a whole-body approach to healthcare and leveraging innovative technologies like Eupnoos, we can revolutionize disease prevention and management. Through proactive monitoring and targeted interventions, we have the potential to enhance patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and ultimately, improve quality of life for individuals worldwide. Let's work together to prioritize holistic care and pave the way towards a healthier future for all. Arshia Gratiot
