    How fit+ gyms operate seamlessly and efficiently without staff 🏋️♂️🤖 In the latest edition of the HCM Magazine Handbook, "Small-cost concepts" were featured in the top 20 new trends impacting the health and fitness industry, with fit+ featured as one of the concepts already emerging in this space. The handbook highlights: "When it comes to finding great locations for health clubs and studios, one of the biggest opportunities will be to develop clubs in rural locations, as well as in areas with low populations. "Succeeding in these locations requires a lower cost base. Costs can be reduced by simplifying the fit-out and going staffless or operating with lower staffing levels.” fit+ franchise owners focus on opening gyms in smaller towns, suburban, and rural areas with target populations of 6,000 to 15,000. 🎥 This video, created by Visivo, demonstrates how innovative technology makes the gym as simple to operate as possible, whilst providing a seamless experience for the member. In addition, each piece of equipment comes with a QR code for easy access to usage instructions, enhancing the member experience and eliminating the need for on-site staff.     Big things are happening in Islington! 🚀 Here's how the brand-new UBX is shaping up 🛠️ Fit-out work is underway at the brand-new UBX gym, set to open its doors in November. Located in a newly developed scheme on City Road, UBX Islington will be opened by franchise owners, husband and wife team, Simon and Michelle. Expressing their excitement as the fit-out progresses, Simon shared: "We are super excited for our UBX Islington adventure to begin. It has taken some time for the scheme at City Road to be built and completed. The complex is amazing and a perfect fit for the UBX offering." Simon and Michelle have successfully operated a franchise in the childcare sector since 2015 and decided to expand their business portfolio and diversify into fitness with UBX. Simon explains their choice: "We wanted to find a business model with something different, something exciting, something new and UBX ticked all the boxes. "The brand has been well received across the UK & Ireland and we are pleased to bring it to Islington." UBX Islington has entered the "Hype and Awareness" phase of their pre-sale memberships, driving early interest for the gym whilst the fit-out work takes place.     Meet Jamie Southon, Our Business Development Manager UK How long have you been working with Empowered Brands? I joined in February 2022. 🎉 Could you explain what your job entails? My role involves supporting franchisees with commercial planning, day-to-day operations, business updates, conducting regular business reviews and deep dives. I also perform brand and people audits. Building strong relationships and providing daily support to the best of my ability is central to my work. 📊🤝 What's your favourite part about your job? I love working with franchisees and General Managers to maximise business performance and help them achieve their goals. 🌟📈 To lighten things up, could you share a fun fact or something lighthearted about yourself? Well to those that know me I do have a few fun facts & stories but not so suitable to share on Linkedin. So I will have to settle for the fact that I learnt to ski with my boots on the wrong feet!! Painful but when pointed out halfway through day two it was much easier!⛷️

    "We loved the brand, the technology, and see a gap in the market for a skills-based workout." 🥊 That's the feedback from Sukhdeep, Arun, and Manraj, the latest franchisees to join the UBX franchise network in the UK and Ireland. The trio have different backgrounds, with Sukhdeep previously working in sales, Arun in the civil service, and Manraj as a professional boxer who also works for the government department for health. They all share a love of boxing, with Sukhdeep having competed in his first fight just two weeks ago! 🥊👏 Asked why they decided to invest in a business in the health and fitness sector, they explained: "Health and fitness is a growing industry that delivers a positive impact. Through our UBX gym we can see how we can make a positive difference to people's lives, and that's a great business to be in. 🌟 "We also all compete in sport, so we love the idea of being competitive in business to hit and exceed our targets." 🎯📈 With the search for suitable premises already underway, we’re looking forward to working with Sukhdeep, Arun, and Manraj, as we help them to get into business with their UBX gym.     Meet Abbey Little our head of Consumer Marketing How long have you been working with Empowered Brands? 4 years this month! 🎉   Could you explain what your job entails? If you ask me – I develop and execute the consumer marketing strategy across all our brands, and provide our franchise network with the relevant platforms, tools and templates they need to grow their business. Key parts of my role include delivering ongoing lead generation and member acquisition activities, and supporting franchisees to implement a local marketing plan.   If you ask some of my colleagues – I ‘colour in’ for a living. 🎨   What's your favourite part about your job? By far the most enjoyable aspect of my role is overseeing the creative execution of brand campaigns, particularly for énergie Fitness – a brand that is loved for its vibrant, fun and inclusive values. There’s nothing more aesthetically pleasing than seeing a campaign come to life and tell a story! 📖 Outside of this, I get great fulfilment from seeing the positive and commercial impact that my team delivers to our franchisees and of course, working with some really amazing colleagues at Empowered Brands.    To lighten things up, could you share a fun fact about yourself? My 2 passions in life are travelling and horse riding. I’ve visited just under 20% of all countries in the world and plan to keep adding to that list! Whilst travelling around California 10 years ago I experienced my biggest horse riding fall, which resulted in a broken back and pelvis (mine, not the horse’s). As bad as it sounds, I can assure you that 15 minutes on the Stairmaster is more painful. 🌍 🎒
