The answer is - Everything! To follow in the next few days will be an article featuring our work with food and consumer products companies and the farmers and ranchers that supply them to quantify the externalities of the environment (soil health, water quality, biodiversity and habitat) into the cost of production. Earth Analytics Group quantifies the externalities associated with the production of raw materials (from agriculture and forestry) that come from land and water resources that are sourced into the supply chains of these industries. Earth Analytics Group has developed a complete set of environmental analytics that quantify the soil carbon sequestration, ghg emissions, water quality, biodiversity and habitat from the production practices of agriculture and forestry that are necessary to quantify and value these externalities in the supply chain. Asset owners, investment banks and insurance companies that underwrite the debt and risk of commodity supply chains that depend upon natural resources are now being regulated - as evidenced by the EU deforestation regulation and climate and nature reporting and disclosures of the EU, UK and State of California. CEOs of food and beverage, consumer products, mining and metals, energy and oil and gas corporates are under pressure to produce the data to supply to regulators and evidence their contributions (both positively as nature assets and negatively as nature liabilities) to the environment through scope 3 emissions to start, then water, biodiversity and nature are set to follow. Earth Analytics Group works with companies in the food & agriculture, consumer products, retail, forest products & packaging, mining & metals and financial services industries to provide them with analytics that future proof their ability to source raw materials, comply to legislation and evidence their impact to the environment.
