In the aftermath of Election Day, U.S. officials are emphasising the importance of sourcing information exclusively from official and trusted outlets. This advisory comes amid concerns over the spread of misleading content, including AI-generated deepfakes and voice-cloned materials, which aim to undermine the legitimacy of the election. #USElection #CyberSecurity #CyberNews

Big news in the cyber world today with police taking down malware infrastructure for Redline and Meta info stealers. This malware is responsible for stealing hundreds of millions of credentials from people all over the world. With this information, hackers can gain initial access into all kinds of networks and cloud applications. While this is a great win for law enforcement, other hackers I'm sure will carry on their activities with different infrastructure. If your clients have been affected by this malware, it's usually a sign their endpoint security is weak or perhaps a outsourced 3rd party contractor with access to the company was hacked. Either way, it's a sign that cyber insurance would be beneficial and additional investment in security is needed. A scan with our Breach Check solution will tell you if your clients or prospects have had data stolen by infostealers. https://lnkd.in/eF2z3Yst

Microsoft starting to enforce MFA across Azure is huge news, I'm not sure why I haven't seen more discussion on the topic in the insurance sector. Default MFA for MS apps will shrink the massively gaping hole for initial access into company networks that exists today and should improve loss ratios. DynaRisk finds thousands of hacked MS365 credentials, this data forms a portion of our risk scoring and alerting platform Breach Check. While this is amazing news, there are two things we need to keep in mind. 1) When one end user in an company gets compromised, the hacker can steal 50-100+ credentials at a time from their device. It's then a game of roulette for them to see which don't have MFA on them. 2) MFA bypass is not uncommon and will become more common like in these scenarios: a) With malware like infostealers, hackers can intercept authenticated user sessions and bypass MFA. We all love to tick the box to "Trust my device for 30 days" button b) Hackers can phone up the company's helpdesk to impersonate the user and get the MFA token reset/disabled c) The hacker can just annoy the user with MFA prompts until they accept it As always, the industry ups their game, hackers adapt, and the arms race continues.... https://lnkd.in/eX8BhNxV
