Network Rail Air Ops get ready for autumn and winter. Dronecloud are honoured to be playing their part. Over the past few years, it’s been a pleasure to work with Air Ops and innovators like the Central Route to help safely evolve Drones into a key inspection asset, part of the ‘tool kit’ for running the railways. Drones will play an increasingly important and sophisticated part of managing the UK's National Infrastructure. It's up to us in industry to enable that evolution by investing in and developing solutions such as Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) as well as supporting the needed regulatory framework. Then we go from a useful toolset to a critical component, indispensable to the efficient maintenance of critical assets. #drones #networkrail #rail #BVLOS #innovation #infrastructure #maintenance https://lnkd.in/e7c8BcBP

Our journey comes to an end for Project BLUEPRINT, our second Innovate UK Future Flight challenge project, with a presentation and demonstration of the amazing work from all partners at the DARTeC centre, Cranfield. The project successfully demonstrated how drones and crewed aircraft can safely share airspace, thanks to innovative solutions such as ground-based sensor networks and an Open Access UTM framework. As with project ALIAS, Dronecloud took the role of Uncrewed Traffic Management Service Provider (UTMSP) delivering core UTM services but this time with an emphasis on interoperability in readiness for the UK's eventual Common Information Services (CIS) & Transponder Mandatory Zones (TMZs). Our high-level objectives were clear: 1. Create and develop UTM services which allow the UK to move to scalable BVLOS 2. Enable operators to access advanced UTM services and systems via an easy-to-use platform Dronecloud continue to work with many of the BLUEPRINT partners and would like to extend our thanks to Cranfield University, University of Southampton, ANRA Technologies, Distributed Avionics, Cranfield Airport, Sky-Drones. In particular, special thanks goes to Neuron Innovations for the immense effort they put in to delivering a successful project. #UTM #BVLOS #drones

PROJECT ALIAS DRONE FLIGHT TRIALS - JERSEY Back in April, the Dronecloud team set up camp on Jersey for three weeks of drone flight trials for project ALIAS (Agile & Integrated Airspace System), a consortium funded by Innovate UK’s Future Flight Challenge. The objective was to demonstrate consortium technology and systems integrated for multi-operator BVLOS drone operations within a live shared airspace ATC environment. By bringing together Uncrewed Traffic Management (UTM) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Project ALIAS delivers a template for Integrated Traffic Management (ITM), which paves the way for scalable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) and Autonomous drone operations. DRONECLOUD UTM Dronecloud played two key roles as Uncrewed Traffic Management (UTM) project lead: 1. Operational Intent Volume (OIV) & Conformance Monitoring By integrating drone telemetry, a fused Traffic information Service (TIS) and Volant’s Via software, Dronecloud UTM was able to create dynamic volumes of airspace to safely deconflict operations and track Conformance in real-time in airspace shared with crewed aviation. 2. UTM – ATC communications The Dronecloud UTM team operated within Jersey Air Traffic Control (ATC) providing direct access to drone operations (situational awareness) and ensuring safe communications of operational procedures. SUCCESS Thanks to the hard work of all partners in the consortium, the trials successfully demonstrated deconflicted, multi-operator BVLOS drone operations in shared airspace. Dronecloud are very pleased to announce that we are one of only six projects selected to participate in the Civil Aviation Authority's Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) sandbox via the Future Flight Challenge’s Project BLUEPRINT. The TRA sandbox will help the project implement what will be one of the first, if not the first TRA zone in UK airspace where ADS-B or Electronic Conspicuity (EC) is mandated. Dronecloud will work closely with the project partners and the CAA to develop and trial integrated #BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operations within UK airspace. Dronecloud’s specific aim is to continue developing UAS Traffic Management (UTM) systems whilst working with other UTM partners and Cranfield ATC to achieve the overall goal of Integrated Traffic Management (ITM). https://lnkd.in/ehCeX8qU #utm #bvlos
