🎃 Halloween Safety & Awareness 🎃 This Halloween, we want to focus on "unmasking" the hidden reality of domestic abuse. Abuse isn't always physical or visible—it can be emotional, psychological, or financial, and victims often wear a mask to hide their suffering, especially in the workplace. Behind the smile or the professional demeanour, someone may be facing unimaginable challenges. By educating ourselves to recognise the subtle signs of abuse, we can create a supportive and safe space for colleagues, friends, and loved ones to come forward and seek help. This Halloween, let's "unmask" domestic abuse together. Education is key to seeing beyond what meets the eye. 💜 #UnmaskAbuse #HalloweenSafety #DomesticAbuseAwareness #SupportSurvivors #EndDomesticAbuse #DomesticAbuseEducation #SafeWorkplace

Working with Businesses to Raise Awareness of Domestic Abuse
About us
Domestic Abuse Education was founded by Sharon Livermore MBE, a Domestic Abuse Survivor and present-day Campaigner; she uses her lived experience, and knowledge to educate businesses through a certified CPD training course and raise awareness of domestic abuse. The Domestic Abuse Education mission is simple: To educate and train businesses across the UK on what domestic abuse is and the true difference they can make to each of their employees, who may currently, or in the future, experience domestic abuse; whilst ensuring every business has a Domestic Abuse Policy in place. Why? Work is often the only safe space where victims are away from their perpetrator, and therefore the only place where they can access the support they need to take the first steps to an abuse-free life. Sharon Livermore is the creator of “Sharon’s Policy”; a FREE template Domestic Abuse Policy, legally reviewed by Hogan Lovells & written in collaboration with the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse, the Domestic Abuse Alliance and HR Dept. The policy comes with its own set of guidance notes and offers businesses of every size, in every sector, a starting point on their journey to supporting their employee’s. What Sharon can offer your business: ✅A CPD-certified training course on Domestic Abuse Awareness & Supporting in the Workplace ✅A bespoke presentation discussing: the forms of domestic abuse, recognising signs in the workplace, statistics, how to start the conversation and signpost victims to support. ✅Sharon’s Policy; a FREE template Domestic Abuse Policy. ✅Advice on how to best embed a policy which works for your business, ensuring the message continues to be heard. 💡 Economic Abuse: What You Need to Know 💡 Economic abuse is a hidden form of control that impacts individuals across all income levels and backgrounds. In our latest article, we break down: 🔍 What is economic abuse, and how it differs from financial abuse 🔍 Common tactics abusers use to control their victims 🔍 The signs to look out for in the workplace 🔍 The impact on victims—both short- and long-term 🔍 Support available for those experiencing economic abuse, including legal options. This is an important issue that businesses and individuals must understand, especially in light of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, which recognises economic abuse as a serious form of domestic abuse. Our founder met her real life hero ⬇️💖
Director at Kameo Recruitment Ltd 💼 | Founder of Domestic Abuse Education 🎓| Public Speaker📢 | Winner of Cambridgeshire SME Business Person of the Year 2023 🏆 | Woman of the Year 2024 🙌🏼
When you meet your real life hero🫡 A few weeks ago I delivered training at Cambridgeshire Constabulary, where I spoke about my experience of domestic abuse, and the evening I nearly lost my life. Laura Rainbird was listening to me speak and came over afterwards, explaining that she was one of the first police officers on scene that evening. It was an emotional moment 🥲 That evening Laura, along with her colleagues, kept me safe without considering the danger they could have been in. I never thought I would get the opportunity to say a proper thank you, so this morning having breakfast with Laura made my heart SO happy. We spoke about the night it happened and although it was 2015, it had stayed with Laura too. For us both to see how far we have come was brilliant and we could have talked for so much longer. We will definitely be meeting up again. I am forever grateful to Laura 🙏🏼 and thank you to all the police officers who selflessly do their job 🌟 #hero #grateful #happysunday #survivor
