DiversITy-talent is a Community Impact Company (CIC) set up to inspire young people and other untapped, underrepresented talent pools from diverse backgrounds into business and technology careers. The British Computer Society – BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), CIONET and The ESG Institute are our founding partners. Our unwavering purpose is to pave the way towards a world where talent diversity reigns supreme, where both digital ways of working and enabling technologies empower us to tackle the most pressing world, business, and community issues through groundbreaking innovation. Our mission is to ignite curiosity, awareness and the development of young people and other untapped, underrepresented talent pools regarding the vast possibilities offered by a modern career in business and technology, thereby cultivating a diverse, skilled, digitally literate talent pool that will shape the future DiversITy-talent seeks business sponsorship to drive an industrial movement for a diverse, digitally competent talent pool, offering a future competitive advantage for all businesses. Together we can impact 60,000 untapped talent pools in 5 years. The ‘DiversITy-talent Awards’ A national competition open to all schools, youth groups, disadvantaged teenagers, young adults and minority groups representing untapped talent pools The competition’s aim: To solve society or community challenges through applying modern business skills, digital ways of working, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and appropriate technology to find winning, practical solutions that can be implemented successfully. In addition, we will be offering modern business and tech core skills training to our supporting partners, our communities , with underrepresented talent pools, and to support the effort in reskilling our ageing population with enhanced digital know-how.

    📢 Calling Design Thinking facilitators in the UK (West of England - Reading / Swindon / Bath / Bristol / Gloucester / Cheltenham / Oxford) Our co-founders ANNA SOMAIYA and Jeremy 💫 Blain are looking for facilitators and volunteers to be part of our movement: **We are set up as a CIC - Community Interest Company set up to inspire young people and other untapped, underrepresented talent pools from diverse backgrounds into business and technology careers. See more here: www.diversity-talent.co.uk **This is done through our DiversITy-talent awards and a suite of work-ready programmes for those who don’t have the means or opportunities to build their modern skills base. Our competition sets a societal or community challenge for groups taking part (for example it might be 'solve food waste at schools' / 'tackling the elderly crisis in our communities') They go through a 12-week journey (**Approx. 2 hours per week**) using Agile methodology, backed up by the design thinking process, to allow them to understand what it is like to work in modern business, where Agile teams are the norm, as they tackle and solve the challenge. 📱This is linked to relevant tech to underpin their solution for the good of their community or wider society. They are certificated and endorsed with a Digital Badge by our sponsors, listing all the skills they gain - ie problem solving, collaboration, storytelling etc etc. The most important aspect is to have diverse team of around 10 participants, with the one rule being that there must be a a male / female parity split (outside of any gender neutral participants) as gender diversity is one of the biggest opportunities in business and tech, and a gateway to a broader range of diverse individuals (ie neurodiverse etc) 📣 We would like to hear from design thinking facilitators who are looking to give back to communities, while securing paid work. We will pay an hourly rate of £50, giving those partnering with us the opportunity to invest more of their time in the project as appropriate. Our next cohorts will kick off in October and will be centred around West of England / Swindon and surrounds, and elsewhere too.     🚀 Celebrating Success: DiversITy-talent 2023-2024 KPI Results! 🚀 We are thrilled to share the outstanding results from this year’s DiversITy-Talent programme, which has made significant strides in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within business and technology careers. 🌍 Key Highlights: Engaging Diverse Students: 54.5% from high deprivation areas, 44.6% from ethnically diverse backgrounds, 52.3% female participation, and 27.7% neuro-diverse students. Shifting Career Perceptions: 14.2% increase in students valuing business/tech careers, 35.3% rise in career awareness, and a 32.8% boost in interest in pursuing these fields. Breaking Stereotypes: 20.5% decrease in the misconception that tech careers are "all about coding," and a 19.6% increase in the perception of creativity within these roles. This programme has not only inspired students to pursue careers in modern business and technology but has also played a crucial role in changing perceptions and breaking down barriers.
