Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, has contributed an op-ed to the Daily Express addressing the findings of EY’s recent report on the potential shift to internet-only TV. In the article, "Change to internet-only TV could cost 4.3 million households £218, report warns," she highlights the risks this move poses to vulnerable groups, including older people, lower-income households, and rural communities, who depend on terrestrial TV for essential information, entertainment, and social connection. Elizabeth outlines how moving to an internet-only model would impose additional costs on millions of households, potentially widening the digital divide. She advocates for maintaining the current hybrid TV model, which ensures access for all without pushing households into the financial strain of high-speed broadband.
