Vision: We craft inspiring and distinctive space where people thrive. Purpose: We design and curate long-life, low carbon, intelligent offices that contribute to London’s position as a leading global city. Values: We build long-term relationships. We lead by design. We act with integrity. Derwent London is the largest central London office focused REIT. We are a different kind of investor and developer; our reputation is built on decisive action in four crucial areas at the heart of our progressive business model. By championing advancements in design, sustainability, technology and people-centricity, we deliver inspiring and distinctive buildings where people thrive and communities grow together. As part of our desire to lead the industry in mitigating climate change, we have committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2030. In 2019, the Group became the first UK REIT to sign a Revolving Credit Facility with a 'green' tranche. At the same time, we also launched our Green Finance Framework and signed the Better Buildings Partnership's climate change commitment. We have science-based carbon targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our investment portfolio now totals 5.4 million sq ft and is worth £4.9 billion. Landmark buildings in our portfolio include 1 Soho Place W1, 80 Charlotte Street W1, Brunel Building W2, White Collar Factory EC1, Angel Building EC1, 1+2 Stephen Street W1, Horseferry House SW1 and Tea Building E1. The success of our business is down to a dedicated team. We are a diverse group of highly skilled professionals with a range of perspectives and corporate experience. In January 2022, we were proud to announce that we had achieved the National Equality Standard - the UK's highest benchmark for equality, diversity and inclusion. In May 2023, we were recognised on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list. By investing in our people, we invest in our business, ensuring we generate sustainable long-term value.

How can we design public spaces that allow for healthy solitude in the city? Makers Katy Ghahremani and Peter Greaves share their thoughts with Francesca Specter in The New York Times, which also showcases Poets’ Park: a pocket park we designed within our 80 Charlotte Street scheme for client Derwent London. Curating spaces that increase opportunities for social interaction may have the unintended consequence of making isolated people feel even more marginalised, whereas spaces that support solitary experiences in the midst of a crowd may encourage a feeling of belonging. Designing for variety is, therefore, crucial to reflect the diverse needs of the people who use them, and spaces like Poets’ Park offer a sense of seclusion despite its central urban location. Learn more about other equally fascinating spaces from Cecilia Lindström, Wutopia Lab founder Yu Ting, Heatherwick studio's Neil Hubbard and HKS, Inc.'s Erin K. Peavey behind the paywall. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eBsXxwFW #healthyspaces #urbanspaces #poetspark #newyorktimes #makearchitects

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris has been shortlisted for the Office Architect of the Year Award. Earlier this year BD announced all the architects who made it on to the shortlists for our prestigious annual Architect of the Year Awards. Now we are shining the spotlight on each category in turn and publishing a selection of the images that impressed the judges. Variety and identity are key to the success of an office building according to the practice, which describes itself as designing ‘distinctive buildings of economy, elegance, and delight’. Its entry includes 1 New Park Square, which creates the backdrop to a new civic square at Edinburgh Park, and Soho Place, a development of two new buildings and a civic plaza on London’s Oxford Street for Derwent London. https://lnkd.in/eAgRMjay #architecture #AYAs #AYAs20in24

At Derwent London, we’re focussed on the evolution of the workplace, with our DL/ Lounges setting a new standard for modern office environments. As Kane Lewis, Associate on the Leasing team, says, “The whole point was to create spaces that reflected changing occupier demands while simultaneously keeping commercial workspace and the developer’s brand at the heart of the strategy.” This article from The Spaces highlights the growing demand for such high-end, adaptable workspaces in the post-pandemic world, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this movement: https://lnkd.in/eXKpe_Ni
