Dementia: 🧠 A range of progressive conditions affecting the brain 🧠 Symptoms include memory problems, cognitive changes and communication difficulties 🧠 Common subtypes are vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease: 🧠 The most common form of dementia (60-70% of cases) 🧠 Caused by a build up of proteins which damage the brain cells' ability to transmit messages 🧠 Alzheimer's is a specific disease.
