A couple of weeks ago our Operations Director, Callum Falconer, caught up with Lucinda Craig of J+S Subsea at their brand new premises in Dyce, Aberdeen. The new premises represent the continued growth of the organisation, whose expertise covers design, engineering, operational support, and maintenance of subsea equipment, while being fully committed to sustainability. "When I joined J+S 3 years ago, there was 18 staff,” said Lucy. “Now there are 38!” We wish Lucy and the team all the best in their growth journey. #decommission #decommissioning #subsea #energy

As aging infrastructure in the energy sector approaches decommissioning, do you have the right tools and insights in place? Morag and Callum recently met up with Decom Mission member, AISUS, for a deep dive session on this very topic at its Aberdeen HQ. A global leader in advanced inspection solutions, specialising in innovative tools that support asset management across the industry, AISUS' remotely operated inspections are designed to make late life operations and decommissioning efficient, safe and precise - addressing even the most complex challenges. AISUS employs the latest robotic solutions for both internal and external inspections that utilise non-destructive techniques to provide operators with accurate data to meet pre-decommissioning needs. From surveying components that aid decision-making during deconstruction and heavy lifting to conducting external cleaning that reduces marine growth, AISUS is equipped to support every stage of the decommissioning process to ensure efficiency and safety. Contact Brea Stephenson or Scott Douglas to explore how AISUS' cutting-edge asset management technology and expertise enhances decommissioning strategies. #inspection #offshore #energy #decommissioning

Last week, Sam attended the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority's biannual Stakeholder Summit. Tasked with decommissioning the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, sustainably and securely, the synergies between nuclear and oil & gas decommissioning - and the opportunities therein for many of our members - continue to be underlined. Both industries have a requirement to consider the impact of decommissioning on job creation, environmental protection and skills investment, as well as a fundamental drive towards acceleration of activity and ever-greater cost-efficiencies. DM Sam if you'd like to discuss further. #decommissioning #nuclearenergy #nuclear #oilandgas

𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔… Richard Lind, General Manager of Ashtead Technology, describes his career so far as “a whirlwind of opportunities”, and it’s that vast range of industry experience that makes him such a valued member of our Board. From the earliest days of his apprenticeship to working offshore and onshore in the UK and overseas, and up to his current position, Richard has experience of the entire well lifecycle and was involved in decommissioning work way before it became labelled as such. Combine his experience with his encyclopaedic knowledge and understanding of the Decommissioning Work Breakdown Structure, and in Richard we have a Director who brings expert, pragmatic advice and direction to help ensure we’re listening to, and supporting, our members. “I’ve been involved with Decom Mission since its early days but right now, I am a passionate advocate of the direction the organisation is taking. Decom Mission’s objectives to bring nuclear and renewable energy decommissioning to our members, whilst broadening our international reach have created a strategy which is set to make a difference to our membership and I’m proud to be playing my part in this.” #decommissioning #energy

Boom! 🎤 The 5th Decom Live took place yesterday and we’re delighted to have welcomed over 300 decom-focused professionals to the quayside at Peterhead Port Authority. In his closing remarks, our CEO, Sam Long made the point that “(decommissioning)… is complicated and we don’t pretend that it isn’t" - referencing not only the technical challenges, but also the external influences upon this global industry. And so, through all that we do, we remain committed to facilitating the conversation, connections, knowledge sharing, and debate that help drive the decommissioning journey onwards. A huge thanks to Peterhead Port Authority for its role as Principal Partner – you were outstanding. And our sincere thanks also go to our Partners, Maritime Developments Limited, ASCO Group, Augean and Saturn Fluid Engineering. #decommissioning #energy
