🗣 “I believe in it, and I think it should be [rolled out] across the UK.” Huge congratulations to the capsule sponge team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for a well-deserved feature in the Nursing Times. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dfrcDGQu The piece particularly demonstrates the value of capsule sponge technology as a professional development opportunity for nurses, and UHL stands as an example of how other nurses can set up similar initiatives. We are incredibly proud to play a part in Vanessa and Colette’s development and will continue to support them in building their network of #EndoSign capsule sponge clinics!

A capsule sponge service is much more than the test itself, that’s why we’ve been hard at work developing an improved data collection and reporting system. The new results portal gives users a clear overview of their patient cases, ranked by urgency for fast decision making. Here’s some of the latest feedback from 2 of the 33 hospitals and GPs 🏥 currently using the portal. If you would like to learn more, or try the portal in your capsule sponge service - please get in touch for a demonstration! #EndoSign

BSG 2024 was an absolute blast! It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm for capsule sponge, particularly when attendees could try the procedure themselves and listen to the latest evidence from their peers. Key findings included the capsule sponge pathways helping improve patient triage and release resources for necessary endoscopies. If you are part of our network please look out for the BSG roundup mailer where we will cover the key capsule sponge findings in more detail. 🔎 Thank you to everyone that made the conference such a worthwhile event this year! From the organisers at British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) to the enthusiastic clinicians and our own amazing team, we felt the event was a tremendous success for all involved.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust recently published their findings from the successful three-year pilot for the capsule sponge test, including positive experiences from both clinicians and patients. Bob Ayling, one of the first east Kent patients to try the test who opted in after being diagnosed with Barrett’s oesophagus, said “compared to the gastroscopy procedure, I would take this every single day”. It is encouraging to see such successful outcomes for patients and the support for the continued roll out to other sites across Kent and Medway. You can read more about the outcomes of the pilot here: https://lnkd.in/eRa5m3eS #NHS #earlydetection #oesophagealcancer
