Sheffield Day Services held their annual summer fayre, with staff, individuals and parents all joining for the day. They enjoyed karaoke and had lots of games to play, including 'Put a Ring On It', 'Splat the Rat', 'Hook-a-Duck' and many more. There were great raffle prizes on offer that had been generously donated, including a much wanted Greggs voucher, cupcakes, personal balloon designs, a bag full of goodies donated by TikTok influencer Ellie, and 12 bottles of tasty relish donated by Henderson's Relish. The sun was shining, so everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream van who arrived to serve some sweet treats. A great day was had by all.

Earlier this week the team at Cygnet Newham House invited carers to an Hawaiian-themed Carers day. Also attending the event were Mike from the local Carers Together support group, and Julian, one of Cygnet’s Carers Ambassadors. All staff, service users and carers joined in with the theme and got into the swing of things with fancy dress and some Hawaiian games whilst celebrating carers. Authentic food was cooked by the chef and everyone had an amazing time!

Well done to Clive Summerbell, a member of the maintenance team at Cygnet Wast Hills, who has recently completed an epic challenge to raise money for a charity that helps people with autism. Clive took on the challenge to scale Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England and fundraise for The National Autistic Society. Walking a total distance of 17 miles in 10 hours, Clive, who has taken on a number of different fundraising challenges in the past, described the trek as “his toughest challenge yet”. He originally set himself a fundraising target of £250, which he has now surpassed. Find out more below: https://ow.ly/9Phi50Tfn2C

The team at Cygnet Bury Forestwood recently held their annual Pride event. Everyone dressed bright and bold and the young people from the wards enjoyed hair braiding, face painting and glitter. The main event was a silent disco with everyone dancing the afternoon away listening to a range of music through their own individual headphones.

Cygnet Lodge Salford recently held their annual Festival and this year the theme was 80s vs 90s. Service users and staff got involved dressing up in their decade of choice and danced their socks off at a disco. There was also an awards ceremony which celebrated patient’s achievements throughout the year. Patients were also entertained by a balloon artist and a bubble performer. The highlight of the day was the ‘Stars in your eyes’ segment, where staff and patients became their favourite artists. A great time was had by all.
