Earlier this week, our Birmingham office hosted a 5km NetRunning Event in partnership with Up & Running UK. Not only was this a fantastic networking opportunity, but a great way to kickstart the day with some outdoor exercise. It was great to see a mixture of experienced runners and newcomers joining in! Due to the success of the event, we’re excited to announce that it will become a monthly feature in our calendar. Our next run will be on Wednesday, 2 October at 7.30am, followed by breakfast at our office. #NetRunning #UpandRunning #Networking #RunningClub

Our Hong Kong team’s participation in the “4-Colour Biz-Green Outfits Social Media Challenge” (#輕型四色穿搭挑戰) organised by Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) for Hong Kong Green Building Week 2024 has been a resounding success. It was a fantastic opportunity to remind the team to practice sustainability in everyday life. By adopting a dress code incorporating light, breathable fabrics, and a considered colour palette, we not only blended professionalism with enhanced comfort but also reduced our energy consumption. We chose fabrics like linen and hemp that require significantly less water and energy to produce. Our team embraced this opportunity to dress more sustainably in a stylish and eco-conscious way. In addition to the outfits challenge, the clothing swap initiative was buzzing with excitement. It was heartwarming to see pre-loved garments find new homes within our company community, extending their usable lifespans and keeping textile waste out of landfills. These activities are part of our ongoing efforts to shift mindsets towards more sustainable practices. Small, collective actions like these have a significant impact, and we are proud to incorporate sustainability into our daily operations as we move closer to a greener future. #BizGreenDressDay2024 #4ColourBizGreenOutfitsSocialMediaChallenge #HKGBW2024 #EcoFriendly #CircularEconomy #GreenFuture

Every year Cundall participates in the World Green Building Council annual World Green Building Week campaign, being held this year from September 9-13th. Across our global offices we have reflected on the theme of #BuildingTheTransition and the three #WGBW24 action pillars of #Reduce #Electrify and #Adapt to identify urgent issues and transformational opportunities. This is #ClimatePositive thinking – moving from crisis mode to collaborating with our clients, wider industry, and peers to highlight potential gains from fast-tracking decarbonisation, climate resilience and social value creation. As a global consultancy, we have the advantage of seeing through local eyes, listening in local languages and applying global insight to unique regional challenges. In this news story, senior #Sustainability experts from across Cundall’s network share thoughts on how each region can create a #Regenerative and #Resilient future. Did you know that Cundall was part of the team who created the UK’s first net zero carbon biophilic school? St Mary’s Voluntary Catholic Academy is comprised of five single-story buildings. Alongside Hawkins Brown, we created a school which promotes natural lighting and landscape access for pupils. The academy has produced positive energy results so far and will be part of a research programme with the University of Derby to report on pupil health and wellbeing. Peter Hazzard discusses the importance of this project as a pioneer in setting the standard for future schools in the UK. Last Thursday, our Dublin office teamed up with Cullen Payne Architects and Shay Cleary Architects for an end-of-summer football extravaganza! Set up to raise funds and awareness for the Irish Cancer Society, architects and engineers competed in a six-team table tournament on a fun-filled evening. Despite a close final, the red team came out victorious against the blue team. Congrats to the red team for their spectacular win, and well done to all the participants who made this event possible! #Cundallfootballextravaganza #Irishcancersociety
