🚨 Question of the week 🚨 Can I speed up the dismissal processes for short service employees? You may be able to speed up processes and jump warning levels for employees who have worked witho you for less than 2 years. Check your contracts for a clause to see if you can do this; what you want to see is a clause that says that you have the right to amend your dismissal procedures dependent on the length of service. It's best to still have at least one meeting before taking any action with short service staff, to explain the issues and give them the chance to ask questions or raise concerns. Employees with less than 2 years' service can still raise claims like discrimination and unfair dismissal due to whistleblowing, so make sure there isn't any element of these before dismissing.
