Conceived by D&B visionary Kasra back in 2002, in a flat in north London, the Critical Music name has grown from a simple idea driven by a commitment to putting out the best music the scene has to offer into one of the most well respected electronic dance music labels in the UK. Nurturing new talent and releasing some of the freshest breaks and beats from the cream of the scene, it has gone on to build a loyal following around the world driven on by Kasra’s never ending quest to release quality underground bass music. Not only a record label, the Critical empire boasts it’s own highly esteemed club nights “Critical Sound” with sell out events at venues such as Motion in Bristol, Studio 338, E1 and Printworks in London, as well as regular branded Critical tour nights and festival stages across the UK and abroad.

Last Thursday we invited fans of the label to join us for an evening of t-shirt printing, drinks, music and socialising at Imprint Works, King’s Cross. Those who joined were able to customise and print their own original and personalised Critical Music t-shirts under the guidance of the amazing team leading the workshop. The evening was really special. Not only because we got to see fans get creative and put an original spin on our merch (all of which was amazing) but because we got to meet and get to know the people who support the label and help make it all possible in a more intimate setting. It’s powerful being in an environment where strangers are brought together by one common interest, especially when it’s a love for music, and it’s important to remember that these moments don’t need to be limited to just the dance. 🖤 📸 Jake Osman

Critical Music is one of the most well respected electronic dance music labels in the UK, with a roster of the most talented new generation artists and producers in the D&B scene as well as a whole host of sold out events at venues across the UK, to say we were excited for Jess to get started would be an under-statement. Jess created this poster, which will also be used within t-shirts and merch across the event, to help promote the incredible line up of artists for Critical music's 'Summer Sonics' at The Cause in London this May.
